Today it’s 5 years since I started my journey !

It all started when two of my friends challenged me to go to Ireland on a whim, learn English and find a job in Dublin.
5 years later I speak more English than my native language, I also crossed Scandinavia backpacking without money, working as a bartender on the beaches of Mexico, exploring the Amazon and hiking in the Andes mountain range. I saw the temples of Egypt and took a road trip to the Middle East.
today I am exploring South East Asia which never ceases to amaze me...

I look at today’s date and yes it was 5 years ago in this second photo, after my first road trip in Ireland that I decided that I would devote my life to travel, to discovering the world and these diverse and wonderful cultures. And today I am exploring Angkor temple on this first pictures.

Also It was also 5 years ago that I started vlogging my adventures, mainly on YouTube. It wasn’t easy every day, often I wanted to give up, very often even...
and today I look at my life and I realize how lucky I am to be able to experience all these fantastic experiences.
5 years today since I left everything for this life and I have never been so happy to lead this life, chaotic of course but it is the life that I have always dreamed of.

and soon other dreams to come true !
more and more of you appreciate my adventures and it is thanks to your support that this adventure will one day be able to transform into something bigger. but I won’t say more about it for now…
Just thank you and thank you life ✌️

At Angkor you pass the door of spirituality...

The monks residing in the temples of Angkor are typically Buddhist monks who lead a life of meditation, study, and prayer. Their daily routine may include morning meditation, recitation of Buddhist teachings, participation in religious rituals, and receiving food donations from the faithful.

Finding myself alone in these temples felt something very mystical, I was like in another world.
and strangely, even if my day running from temple to temple to take as many photos as possible was very tiring, yet I felt peaceful and my mind rested. another mystery of the Angkor temples…

By the way here are some of the 1000 pictures I took there. Let me know what you think about it 😁

I step into a world of wonder at Angkor Wat !

Discovering the awe-inspiring history of this temple, built in the 12th century by the Khmer king Suryavarman II, this UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cambodia is the largest religious monument on Earth. Its intricate architecture and captivating carvings gibe us a glimpse into the rich cultural legacy of the Khmer Empire.

This picture here was taken in the eastern part of the temple in a place that only the eye of a photographer will be able to spot, a place that took me a long time to seek out for the beauty and perfect symmetry that it offers , a depth in perspective which here is enhanced by the light of sunrise.

honestly this photo was complicated to get because I had to meet the lighting conditions and make sure to find this place without any people, plus I take my picture alone and without a tripod, how do I do it? magic, mystery and perlimpinpin powder… ✨

If you read until here please comment “pelimpinpin”.

In this sanctuary I had the chance to meet the elephants of Thailand.
These ones were saved from exploitation and today they spend peaceful days in this sanctuary.
observing these large creatures in the middle of the jungle is a superb experience.

I would recommend to get closer to sanctuaries and to avoid the tours which offer to ride on their backs because this is bad for them and they are often mistreated for the pleasure of a few ignorant tourists.

Of course, there is always a form of exploitation near certain sanctuary which offers the tourist no longer to ride on their backs but to walk and bathe with them. unfortunately the situation is far from being that simple...

having worked in a wildlife protection sanctuary, I know how difficult it is to find the right balance.
Let us be clear, once these elephants are exploited by man and often traumatized, it is impossible to go back, impossible to reintegrate them into their natural environment which often no longer exists.
this is the case of almost all species that suffer the cruelty of humans.
the only solution they have left is this kind of sanctuary where in most cases they are well treated and pampered.
As for the visit by tourists, this is necessary to ensure the financing of these sanctuaries because in these countries they often receive no help from the government or anyone else.
These elephants are therefore condemned to exploitation for the rest of their days, otherwise the sanctuary would not be able to feed them and cover the often significant health costs due to their trauma.

whatever the case, I prefer to see them living in sanctuaries where they are free to walk around and socialize with others elephants rather than chain them up to serve as mounts for the tourist.

and you ? what do you think about it?

This is not Petra !

This beautiful site is called Hegra and this is in Saudi Arabia !
Hegra, formerly known as Mada’in Saleh, was the second-most important city of the Nabatean people after Petra. It houses nearly 130 rock-cut tombs, as well as inscriptions, altars, and architectural remains.

The Nabateans were an ancient Arab people who thrived in regions including present-day Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other parts of the Middle East between the 4th century BC and the 1st century AD.

You can visit it from AlUla, this magical place a Saudi who hide some magic and mystery! It was really one of my favorite visit there 🥰 !

The old town of Al Ula, a place that rubs with time…
We no longer know when we enter if we are projected into the past or if we have entered a fantastic world.

At the entrance a woman welcomes you
“welcome to Al Ula”
in a melodious voice which adds to the sound of the Oud enchanting the landscapes of the city, this sound background gives the impression of strolling in a historical video game .

We walk among the streets, the earth-covered houses open their doors to us while we enjoy a coffee and a few dates. The perfumes and spices then envelop our senses, causing explosions of emotion.

Then in the calm of the desert rises around us these giants of red stones which once governed an ocean. Today protecting a small Oasis where the very ancient din of the swell only leaves room for an ecology between the rocks, a barely perceptible whisper, hidden between the palm groves and which whispers to the Ear :
“Al Ula”..

Visiting Mars 🪐

Not far from Tabuk, one of the main cities in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, I left for a road trip to one of the most beautiful deserts in the world.
In full cultural immersion with a group of Saudis friends who offered me incredible hospitality and friendship !
The landscapes down there give me the impression of camping on Mars !
a magical evening eating and drinking tea around the fire, under a sky with billions of stars, listening to ancient Saudi legends, those which tell the stories of the Berbers of the desert who lived here not so long ago ….

What’s Siwa ? From my perspective.

Siwa is an oasis where people live peacefully far from the noise of Cairo.
It’s the salt lakes where you feel like you’re floating without a buoy.
It’s the date palms from which the famous date pancakes and Siwa juice are made.
It’s these deserts and sandstorms, a cup of tea after sand-boarding to the dune.
Siwa is its ancient fortress and stone hills where the people of old civilisation were once buried.
But most of all, Siwa is its Siwi people, their hospitality, and kindness that you won’t find anywhere else in Egypt.

It’s a place where calm reigns and where one rejuvenates in its springs. An oasis and certainly the place I wanted to see most in Egypt.

how were the pyramids built?

Behold the wonder of the Pyramids! These colossal structures stand as timeless testaments to ancient Egypt’s incredible ingenuity. Built over 4500 years ago, they were monumental tombs for pharaohs like Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.
Imagine: no modern tools, yet they crafted these marvels!

Massive stones, some weighing tons, were hauled and stacked with sheer manpower. Some say ramps, levers, and a massive workforce made this possible….
Well I don’t believe that.

Some scientists analyzed the composition of the soil surrounding the pyramids and came to the conclusion that the sand present would have been used to cast the stones in the same way that we make concrete today. this remains a theory like any other but for me it is more logical than having to transport blocks of several tones.

And you ? what do you think? 🏛️✨

Inside the tomb of a Pharaoh !

Arriving in Luxor, I ventured into the Valley of the Kings for some tomb exploration! I had no idea what to expect before delving into the depths of the tomb, yet I was incredibly surprised by the amount of art and hieroglyphs covering the walls and ceilings... representations of the pharaoh's life and their afterlife, hence the strong presence of Anubis. I explored no less than 4 tombs in the Valley of the Kings, so from this, I think you can call me a tomb raider.

Feeling like walking through ancient times…

on the banks of the Nile we discovered the temple of Sobek the crocodile god of the Nile. These symmetrical shapes and their perfect conservation give me the impression of going back 2000 thousand years and leave me speechless in front of so much artistic beauty.

Just a huge pointy thing in the middle of the desert.

I've always dreamt of seeing the pyramids, I think it's kind of everyone's dream, actually. So, after spending the day wandering around, I'm happy to announce that it's actually pretty awesome! I wasn't disappointed at all; it was truly a dream come true. Of course, the reality involves camel tour vendors approaching you and the crowd of tourists because I didn't know, but Friday is the weekend in Egypt. Anyway, it was incredible.

Khnum’s temple, the ram god.

The legend say that Khnum formed human beings and deities on his potter's wheel from the clay of the Nile. So if the legend say true our body was formed in this temple, like a déjà vu when coming to this site, or maybe it's just my imagination.
By the way, Khnum is the ram-headed god of creation, as for me my astrological sign I’m a aries and my name means “the one who gives life” coincidence ? Lol obviously yes but still funny to relate things like this.

I don't know why traveling makes me so happy, but I once heard someone say that if it brings you joy, you don't need to find a reason. Just do it. Everyone finds a purpose in life, and for me, it's all about exploring the world, discovering new cultures, meeting new people, and, most importantly, living every possible experience life has to offer.
As for the rest, we'll see where it takes us. ✈️🌍❤️

Fauna of Bolivia 🦊🦙🦩

During our unforgettable road trip through Bolivia, we were spellbound by the incredible fauna that crossed our path. On the vast salt flats, hundreds of flamingos gracefully feasted before taking flight. Did you know Bolivia is home to more than 30% of the world's flamingo population? 🦩

As we ventured along the dusty trail, a herd of llamas, iconic symbols of South America, made a surprise appearance. Bolivian llamas have been domesticated for over 4,000 years, providing essential resources for the indigenous people. 🦙

In the heart of the desert, we had a fascinating encounter with a curious coyote. These elusive creatures are a vital part of Bolivia's ecosystem, helping control rodent populations. 🐺

Bolivia's deserts, though seemingly barren, are teeming with life. It's a testament to the country's rich biodiversity and the importance of conservation efforts. 🌵🌎

During my trip to Peru I discovered and learned about Quechua culture. descended from the Incas, the Quechua culture has persisted over the centuries, mainly in the Andean mountains of Peru and Bolivia, they also have their own language available in several dialects.
It’s in Cusco, capital of the Inca empire that culture is most present, from traditional music, llama and alpaca breeding in the valleys to traditional clothing made with the wool of the latter.
A culture rich in tradition and it is undoubtedly the best thing to discover when traveling to Peru

Ollantaytambo, Inca fortress 🌄

Located 70 km from Cusco, Ollantaytambo is an architectural and historical enigma founded in the 15th century by the Inca emperor Pachacuti. This city was much more than just a town – it was a strategically positioned fortress, with massive stone walls of incredible precision that withstood Spanish assaults during the conquest.

This archaeological treasure served as the last line of defense for Machu Picchu and now stands as a starting point for the Inca Trail that leads there.

This city is shrouded in mysteries. I've had the privilege to explore its incredible architecture and even climb up some ruins to reach hidden temples.

Venturing into the Sacred Valley of the Incas feels like stepping into a living tale of history. As I wandered through its ancient terraces and timeless ruins, I couldn't help but feel a deep connection to the once-thriving Inca Empire. The echoes of their traditions and achievements still reverberate through the stone structures, reminding me of the incredible civilization that once thrived here.

But this valley isn't just about relics of the past. Today, it's a vibrant tapestry of colors and experiences that ignite the senses. The landscape unfurls in a breathtaking panorama, with towering mountains, lush fields, and the tranquil Urubamba River. The local markets burst with life, showcasing intricate crafts and the warm smiles of the people who call this place home. As the sun paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, I find myself immersed in the captivating blend of history and the present moment, grateful to be part of this incredible journey.
