🔴Cololevu Farms and iTaukei Trust Fund Board Launch Rural Resource Center to Empower Women in Agriculture**

Cakaudrove, Fiji – In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing opportunities, and providing protection for women in agriculture, Cololevu Farms has partnered with the iTaukei Trust Fund Board to establish a dedicated Resource Center for women and girls in rural farming communities.

The project, launched in alignment with the global 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women and Children, seeks to empower female agricultural workers by offering them access to safe accommodation, proper sanitation, and avenues for personal and professional development.

The Resource Center is a first-of-its-kind innovation in the Cakaudrove region, designed to address the unique challenges faced by rural women in the agricultural sector. It aims to foster greater participation of women in farming, a sector where their contributions have already proven to enhance productivity and efficiency.

🟡A Transformational Milestone for Cololevu Farms**
With over 35 years of operations, Cololevu Farms has grown to employ approximately 60 workers daily. Notably, over 60% of its current workforce are women, whose participation has significantly improved the farm’s operations in recent years. The establishment of this Resource Center underscores the farm's commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for female workers.

🟠Partnership with the iTaukei Trust Fund Board**
The initiative is a collaborative effort under the Solesolevaki Framework, which emphasizes collective action and sustainable community development. The iTaukei Trust Fund Board’s involvement ensures the project aligns with cultural values while fostering socio-economic growth for women in rural areas.

🟢Official Launch**
The Resource Center will be officially launched by the Honorable Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Hon. Vasu. This event marks a significant step forward in promoting gender equality and transforming the agriculture industry in Fiji.

🟣A Vision for the Future**
“We are proud to champion this initiative, which will not only improve working conditions for women but also inspire them to pursue greater opportunities in agriculture,” said a spokesperson for Cololevu Farms. “This is about more than farming; it’s about empowerment, dignity, and creating a legacy for future generations.”

The Resource Center’s launch reaffirms Cololevu Farms' and the iTaukei Trust Fund Board’s shared vision of building resilient communities while addressing critical issues such as gender equality and the prevention of violence against women and children.
