Vaasa Wildlife Festival Luontoelokuvafestivaali Vaasa Wildlife tuo maailman luonnon tilan esille elokuvan keinoin. / Naturfi October 1st, from 10am to 11pm.

Wildlife Vaasa Festival, one of the world's biggest environmental film festivals. It's is located on the West Coast of Finland in the City of Vaasa and it's held every second year since 2002. During all these years, the festival has grown in stature receiving commendation from participants, delegates, media and the public world-wide. Successful implementation of previous festivals has broadened it

s co-operation network worldwide. On a local and regional level, the development of a media education project during the last 8 years, produced 32 films in co-operation with schools and youth groups in the region. Moreover, international festival co-operation, screening events, and the establishment of a supporting association are currently active festival projects.The 8th biennial festival in will take place in Vaasa from 28th September to 2nd October 2016 and it will host 218 films fro 58 countries around the world. during the festival days 180 films from 58 countries with a viewing time of 90 hours will be screened in public over a 5 day period at the following venues: Vaasa city library's Drama Hall from 10 am to 8pm and The Culture House F***y - where the award ceremony will take place-, on Sat. during the festival days 180 films from 58 countries with a viewing time of 90 hours will be screened in public over a 5 day period at the following venues: Vaasa city library's Drama Hall from 10am to 8pm and The Culture House F***y where the award ceremony will take place on Sat. The Vaasa Wildlife film Festival is a unique event and only occurs bi-annually, it is an event where film makers, delegates, producers, officials and the general public congregate to meet and greet each other in a warm and friendly atmosphere – Therefore we would like to welcome everybody to join Vaasa Wildlife festival in 2016 and celebrate together Nature in Style!

📣 Vaasa Wildlife Festival at the 1st Our Ocean Film Festival 15-17 April, in Athens, Greece.

📽️ 🌏 🌊 In the framework of the 9th Our Ocean Conference in Athens this week, the 1st Our Ocean Film Festival was held, aiming to offer an impressive program of about 60 underwater and nature films, to
better inform and sensitize the general public about the protection of our oceans.
📽️ 🌏The film screenings were held with free admission and took place at the foremost Megaron Athens Music Hall during 3 days. The program was developed in collaboration with international television networks, such as CNN and National Geographic, and international film festivals, such as Camera Zizanio, Vaasa Wildlife Festival, Cinedoc and Aegean Film Festival. Many film creators also attended the screenings and spoke to the audience about their films, making the screenings more interactive.
📽️ 🏫🩵A few days before our screenings in Athens, Vaasa Wildlife Festival coordinated a school screening event at the primary School of Kamari at the Municipality of Xilokastro- Evrostine, with online participation of the director of the film "SEKANIA" director Vicky Markolefa.
🙏 📽️We warmly thank the director and the staff of the school for setting up a wonderful event and the children for their enthusiastic participation that always inspire us. We also thank all the creators of the films who generously offered their films for the festival to boost awareness for our oceans, we thank the friends and partners who attended our screenings at the Megaron and most of all our sincere gratitude to the festival team, and all the organizers in Athens for their hard work behind the scenes of this great event that brought also Finland and our coastal city Vaasa, to Athens, through this sound festival co-operation. We wish that Our Ocean film festival in Athens will continue its journey in the years to come, Such large-scale, international events that use the audiovisual power of film as a medium to raise awareness and inspire action for the protection of the oceans of planet, are an optimistic approach and a great motivation for all of us who attended, to stay connected and united for the good of our ocean, that its the good for humanity as well. The 9th Our Ocean Conference is a global event that focuses on ocean protection and sustainability. This year it comes to Europe and its hosted by Greece. The conference program in Athens, includes a film festival, and we participate in it, by screening some some of our best underwater films, to showcase beauty, diversity and the challenges of marine life and its ecosystems, and to inspire action for their conservation. 🎬 🌍🌱Get Ready to re-embark for another exciting nature film journey around the world, as we are about to launch our 11th international nature film competition this year starting with our Call for Entries. 🎞️ 🌲 📣 The Call opens on January 21st and it will be open (also on FilmFreeway) until January 31st (regular deadline). And for those who are not in FilmFreeway, they can submit their films through our website (wildlife.vaasa.fi) and email exhange with the festival team. This year, we invite new nature films, produced after 1st January 2022.
Our main festival theme this year is ”Finnish Nature” 🎥🎞️ ❄️ 🌲🇫🇮 🩵, and our special wish is to receive films related to Finnish Nature. For more detailed information, please check our website. The festival dates are set to 25-29 September 2024. Get ready and welcome to submit! 🎥 🌍 🎞️

🎞️🎊 Vaasa Wildlife Festival is in Kuopio this week invited at the ”Kirjakantti” festival, the city’s literature festival. This year, the festival celebrates also 20 years and today it kicked off in great style ❄️🎉✨
📽️🎞️ On Wednesday this week together with the NATOURALE Festival, we’re going to host a film screening event for schools and students, screening three of our festival winners last year, at the famous ”Kuvakukko” movie theatre. 🎊👏🎞️ We are very happy and proud of ”LIBERTY” film, and especially of the director Phill De Witte! He was our first festival guest to arrive Vaasa last year and during the press meetings he spoke openly about the difficulties and challenges that he faced before and during the making of this amazing film. We are also proud that the film won also first place in Vaasa last September, and two months later, the same happened in Wiesbaden, Germany during the awesome NATOURALE 22 where we met again and Liberty won again first place and kept the festival succees on, until we recieved these great news! In Vaasa, we saw the film twice during the festival and the lucky ones who saw it, they all loved it! Congratulations! 🎊👏

🌫️ 👌📸 Happy endings with the last Puddle animation school visit this week and today we had also a stop-motion workshop at the Culture House F***y for Vamia’s media students, followed by a Persian Garden introduction-workshop, that turned very soon to be a creative one, with students creating some amazing patterns! ✍️🌸🍁
