The final episode of the series is out now with Neville Southall!

Neville has been regarded as one the best goalkeeper of his generation, with 751 appearances at Everton Football Club and 92 appearances for FA Wales . He has won 2 league titles, 2 FA Cups, and the European Cup.

However, these days Neville is known for giving a voice to marginalised groups within society. Handing over his Twitter account to various groups and organisations to use his platform to educate, support and answer questions people may have on specific topics or matters.

In this episode we talk about his life on and off the pitch, as well as the circumstances and people that came into his life at the right place and the time, that resulted in him signing with Everton. Neville also shares the biggest things he has learnt over the years.

Episode 6 is out now this the wonderful Dr Rhona Eskander.

Rhona is an award-winning dentist, and has perfected the smiles of some of the most famous faces around from Rita Ora to scary spice herself, Mel B. She is a hugely successful business woman, who owns one of the post prestigious dental practices in the country as well as co-founder of toothpaste tabs brand, PÄRLA.

In our conversation we discuss the journey Rhona has been on, to achieve all that she has, at such a young age. Her struggles with her identity growing up in the UK with first generation immigrant parents, the highs and lows of being a woman in the public eye, her own fertility concerns and the societal pressures put on women today. We also talk about how she tries to deal with her own mental health in the modern day.

Hello hello! It is time for episode 3! 🥳

This episode is a very special one to me, as I sat down with one of the very first women that I looked up to from a young age. Some people have that one teacher that was there to support, guide and inspire them, and I was lucky enough to have a woman called Rhian Mannings as one of my first examples of a strong, empowering female. However, this episode is not actually about our relationship, or why Rhian was an inspiration to me as a child. It is what she has gone on to experience since, and the work, and legacy she has created in recent years, that I will forever be in awe of.

10 years ago, Rhian experienced every parent's worst nightmare, when her youngest child George suddenly died at the age of 1. While Rhian and her family started grieving the loss of their little boy, the unimaginable happened, and just 5 days later her husband Paul tragically committed su***de after being unable to cope with the death of their baby George. Leaving Rhian to grieve the loss of both her child, and husband, as well as raise her 2 other children. However, what is so unbelievable about Rhian’s story is she wanted to make a change so no other family would have to experience what she went through. This resulted in her starting the charity to 2wish, that offers support to those affected by sudden death in young people.

In our conversation, Rhian speaks so candidly about the events that happened 10 years ago, and how she continues to deal with her grief and mental health after losing Paul and George.

My chat with Rhian has been recorded over 2 episodes with part 2 coming out next week, as we also speak about hope, and happiness, as well as the incredible work that Rhian has done with her charity, 2wish, which is changing and saving lives across the country. We also discuss how Rhian found love again and talk about the people that are most important to her in life.

I will also be running the London Marathon this year for Rhian’s charity 2wish. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and will truly be going to such a great cause. The link to the fundraising page and episode can be found here: https://linktr.ee/caitlinbryant

So please go and listen to this incredible woman's story! 🤍🤍🤍

🚨 Set a reminder the first episode with Australian cricket star Marnus Labuschagne and Welsh rugby player James Botham, will be out next Tuesday at 10am! 🚨

It is the story of the friendship formed between Marnus and James years ago, when at the time they were both relatively unknown sportsmen from two different sides of the world, and two completely different sports who met through coincidences, in the unlikely setting of a pub in Cardiff, South Wales, this chance meeting resulted in two sporting worlds colliding and inspired me to start this podcast.

In the episode we discuss the places and events that brought them together, their affinities and connections to Wales, the ups and downs of professional sport and the moments in their life that has led them to where they are today.

Excited for you all to listen! 💛🥰

Firstly hello and welcome to Times and Places!

So I thought I’d give you a little backstory as to why I started this podcast. I came up with the idea a year ago when I was chatting with a friend of mine about my fascination with fate and serendipity; in particular, how life’s unpredictable timing and the nature of chance encounters in unlikely places, can have a huge impact on your life and potentially change its course forever.

This got me thinking about all the moments in my life that have led me to certain people or situations that have impacted it both good and bad, as well as having an influence on the person that I am today.

I was intrigued to learn and discover how certain times and places may have had an effect on other people in their life. This gave me the idea of creating a podcast called “Times and Places” in which each episode I speak with different guests, who have experienced every aspect of the joys and tragedy of life, to discuss particular times, moments, people and places that have been significant in their life.

Keep an eye out for the details of the first episode which will be out very soon.

Lots of love,
Caitlin xoxo
