Okay so we back... Kind of 😉

We will be posting less often and don't plan on following the UK season as closely although we will most probably cover a bit of the UK happenings as we are most involved here. Hopefully this will allow us to chat more broadly with different people across the international Games community.

This episode is an exception to the rule but we enjoyed it anyway!

A cracker conversation with the inventor of the Litter Scoop. Eddie Surman is a top open rider (famously related to his sister Janey), partner of and longstanding supporter of the podcast which he enjoys from the comfort of his tractor. 🔥🔥

We have a bit of fun with this conversation and even manage to talk a little bit about ponies, recovery from injury, farm life, controversial arena sizes, and the return of Leicester Forrest East to competition this weekend at the STRUK Spring Show.

Always a fun chat with Eddie, hope you enjoy! 🔥🧡

After a controversial chat over a few beers at the STRUK Knights Pairs with Dan Saunders I've managed to get him on the podcast! 🔥🔥

Dan is a veteran of the sport and is still absolutely killing it. You'll often find Dan in the ring fighting for A finals, riding for the new team Yorkshire, or training up and coming riders.

In this episode we learn a bit about Dan and his ponies, and discuss the formation of Joe Garnetts new team Yorkshire, the STRUK League Starter, Knights Pairs and give predictions for this weekends Spring Show.

Safe travels, see you at Dallas Burston Polo Club later today! 🧡🔥

Plenty of movement in the PGP top 10 after last weekend's STRUK Knights Bachelor Pairs Tournament.

Everyone moves up or down the rankings apart from Ben Hopkins who remains comfortably in the #1 spot despite losing points for the very first time.

Sadie Lock and Dione Walters move up the ranks thanks to absences from some of last year's finalists. Sadie becomes the first female rider in the top 3!

Greg James is the top ten mover of the week and goes up 3 places after looking like he was in danger of dropping out of the top 10 after the STRUK league starter.

In other news further down the rankings…

Sam Hopkins and Joe Garnett, (Joe would be #1 right now if we were only going off of this year's scores) are racing towards the top 10 and have each dropped only 150-100 of the points available so far this year.

Rory Capel's campaign to return to the top 10 has been set back after an unfortunate accident early on in the competition, but he’s sure to get back on track shortly.

PGP hosts Tom and Kyle manage to defend 60% of their points by claiming the Knights Pairs Bronze Medal 2 years in a row!

PUBLIC DISCLAIMER: Some of the predictions and banter made by my friend Tomas Forsythe in this episode have aged extremely poorly, haha 😆😆

Video podcast now available on Spotify, audio versions available on Google Podcasts and other streaming services. Here is a link to our latest episode... https://bit.ly/3wfWJmZ

We had a grand idea to record the episode on our drive to Wales for the first competition of the season. We reached out on the socials for questions and topics to discuss. We got things like "Knockout Individuals predictions?", "All Weather League predictions?", "What sports do you do outside of games?", "Why Wes Jones wasn't trainer of the year", "New teams and rider transfers?", " Rules we don't agree with?", etc.

Was good to get the ball rolling with another podcast, look forward to bringing you a new episode before Knights pairs on the 26/27 March.

Please follow, like and share if you enjoy our content. It's the best way to support what we do :)

Your PGP #10 after the 2022 STRUK League Starter‼️

Another win for Royal Berkshire means Ben Hopkins extends his lead at the top.

A 300 point improvement over last year's League Starter result for Jack Capel and a loss of 800 points for Guy Gorvett means Jack overtakes Guy to move into second place overall 🥈

An absence from the Shropshire South team meant a loss of 800 points for most of their riders apart from Greg who only loses 200 points having come 3rd this year with team Cornwall.

Mitch takes a big fall from 5th to 9th overall and Dione claims his spot having jumped all the way from 8th thanks to her 800 points gained this year.

Owain moves from 9th to 7th.

Rory Capel is now only 100 points away from returning to the top 10 after falling all the way from the #1 position post injury.

Luke Grimshaw and Sam Hopkins also score big as they make their PGP ranking debut!

We want your best reffing stories 🏁

Hi everyone, we're hoping to be able to do something a bit different for our Christmas special...

With your help, we want to put together a compilation of our audience's most entertaining or otherwise interesting referee related stories.

If you're a rider, we want stories of when you've been wronged by, helped by or had a laugh with a ref.

If you're a ref you can tell us stories about the one time everyone actually listened to you, or about any opinions you have on potential rule changes.

We won't need you for the length of our usual interview style episodes, at most we're only asking for 20 mins of your time to tell your story and for us to ask a couple of questions.

We've got two volunteers so far, but the more we have the merrier the episode will be! 🎅

So if you've got a story to tell just send us a message or comment below!

Introducing this week's guest Leah Robertson!🔥

We are always trying to think of people to give interesting, new perspectives on our sport... Leah covers a special part in the huge world that is social media and produces valuable Mounted Games content. The platform she has created for herself has made her an ambassador for the sport and an idol to many young riders around the world!

I had never met Leah until this episode (apart from friendly hellos in passing) and truly enjoyed my time chatting with her 🔥🔥

This was recorded a good few weeks ago, a lost laptop has set us back a bit 😂 Should be back in the swing of things soon!

🔥 What would the reaction be if MGAGB was to shorten the distance between lanes to 8 meters? As opposed to the current 9? Would this increase collisions?

🔥 And have the poles set 8m apart, shortening your bending race by 5 meters?

🔥 What do we think of the Italian team selection process?

After receiving a message from Andrea the night before World Individuals asking to borrow an air bed, I took the opportunity to offer an air bed in exchange for his time on the podcast! 😉

He mentioned being keen to discuss his concerns with the Italian selection process, and the dangers facing the athletes and ponies due to the Italian rule book allowing shorter distances between poles and from the safety area along the back fence. And who better than top Italian rider Andrea Farinetti to give us an insight into how Mounted Games works in Italia!? 🇮🇹

Here it is...

Available on Spotify, Apple podcasts, and wherever you find your podcasts!😉
