For decades, communities in Torit, Budi, and Ikotos counties of South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state have been caught in a persistent cycle of intercommunal violence.

These entrenched divides are driven by cattle raids, revenge killings as well as seasonal cattle migration which brings with it competition over grazing areas and water resources.

Recently, the youth from the Kraal community have taken measures to end longstanding cattle-related conflicts with pastoral communities in the Kidepo Valley area, including the Didinga, Lotuko, and Logiragreeing.

This agreement was reached after a peace dialogue facilitated by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan’s (UNMISS) Civil Affairs Division in Chahari, Ikotos.

Once a gain, the South Sudanese, American-based author of the best-seller book "I Am My Mother's Wildest Dream," Nyajuok Tongyik, surprised her readers with the release of her brand new book "Woman R.I.S.E" which she co-authored. One fan called her "A Beacon of Empowerment, Resilience, and Literary Excellence."

Here is what he has to say.

In the realm of literature, few individuals manage to captivate readers' hearts and minds quite like Nyajuok Tongyik. With the release of her second book, "Woman R.I.S.E" Nyajuok has established herself as a remarkable writer and tireless advocate for girl child education, women's empowerment, and women's participation in entrepreneurship and politics.

Nyajuok's journey to becoming a literary force and a champion of women's rights is a testament to her unwavering resilience. She emerged from what she describes as "toxic marriages," which could have easily stifled her dreams. Instead, she turned her pain into power and used her experiences to fuel her determination to make a difference.

Through her writing, Nyajuok sheds light on the challenges women face daily, amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights. "Woman R.I.S.E" must be a literary masterpiece that will tell the stories of strong, resilient women and serve as a call to action for society to recognize and address gender disparities.

Beyond her books, Nyajuok is actively involved in initiatives promoting girl child education, believing that education is the key to breaking the cycle of gender inequality. She has also been a guiding light for women seeking to enter the world of entrepreneurship, providing mentorship and support.

Nyajuok's impact extends to the political sphere, where she tirelessly advocates for increased female representation. She firmly believes women's voices must be heard in politics to create a more equitable society.

In celebrating Nyajuok Tongyik's second book, we also celebrate her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of women and girls worldwide. Her journey from adversity to empowerment inspires us all, reminding us that through resilience and determination, we can rise above challenges and create a brighter future for all.

As we congratulate Nyajuok Tongyik on the publication of "Woman R.I.S.E," let us join her in the fight for girl child education, women's empowerment, and greater gender equality in entrepreneurship and politics. Her story is a testament to the power of the human spirit, and her work is a beacon of hope for a more inclusive and just world. Sister Nyajuok, I'm looking forward to reading this book as I have read your other book at least three times. I'm happy for you.

By Tut Kuany Kok, Nairobi-based Author of the noble, "Suffering Without Bitterness: Love That Breaks The Curse, and the upcoming noble, Bigoah: A Child In A Hole."

The coups have been strongly condemned by the United Nations and Western powers such as the U.S. and France, which have urged democracy to be restored as soon as possible. Doumbouya criticised their response, saying it was racist and condescending.
