ህሩይ ማለት በኢ/ኦ/ተ/ቤተክርስትያን የሚሰጥ የሹመት ስያሜ ሲሆን እንዲህ ያለው ስም በእውቀት ለረቀቁ ጠቢባን እና ሊቃውንት የሚሰጥ ነው። ብሔረ አግዓዚ ማለት ደግሞ ኢትዮጵያ በቀደመው በአበው ጊዜ ትጠራበት የነበረ ስያሜ ነው።
በጥቅሉ ህሩያን ዘብሔረ አግዓዚ ማለት ጠቢባን ኢትዮጵያውያን የሚለውን ትጉርም ይዘን የተነሳን የቸብቸቦ ቡድን ነን።
