Recovering from a burnout requires intentional actions and self-care. Here are 5 practical steps to help improve or get out of burnout (that have helped me)
1) Boundaries: Start by identifying what is causing the most stress and gradually reduce your workload/delegate tasks where possible
2) Prioritize rest and sleep: Burnout often leads to chronic exhaustion, so making rest a priority is crucial. Incorporating relaxation techniques like deep breathing or (guided) meditation can also improve your mental rest.
3) Physical activity: Alleviate stress, boosts your mood, and improves energy levels. Can be just a short walk or gentle yoga
4) Reconnect with fun activities: Rediscover hobbies or activities that bring you joy and fulfillment outside of work
5) Seek support: Share your thoughts with someone you trust. If your burnout is related to work, consider discussing your concerns with your manager or HR to explore solutions.
