Memories of a well lived summer..
It's been a while, I have only been able to photograph a few sessions this year due to health issues, but these few ones were handpicked and so special. I had already photographed beautiful for my fed is best project last year and doing her maternity shoot in a bright morning in Cabanyal felt like a breath of fresh air

When you're cute and you know it 🤩
I've been neglecting social media again but for such a good reason.. we're in the process of moving closer to the beach 🙌 (hmm I foresee many beach minis in my future 📸) I've just delivered my last two sessions of the year, and yes this year was obviously a hard one for everyone but I'm so thankful to have gotten to know and photograph the coolest families!!! So if I photographed you, just know I am so honoured and grateful (and mamas please keep existing in photographs with your loved ones ❤️)

Isn't this family the absolute cutest? Ok I might be biased because they're my friends 🤩 but I love it when friends hire me as it just feels like a hang out session.. Well actually now that I think about it, all my sessions feel like a hang out session ❤️

People have been asking so I'm just gonna leave this as a reminder.. These are not posed studio photographs, the whole point of these is having real keepsakes of your family, capturing the look on your children's faces when you first light up the tree. There's nothing like it and I'd like you to be fully there for them, not taking the pictures but being in them too.

I photograph thinking about picture frames on my client's walls. Eleven years ago whenever I photographed, I photographed solely with the intent of being creative. That was good because it meant I experimented a lot until I understood exactly what and why I wanted to photograph. It wasn't landscapes, or events, or even professional models. No. Women, and everyone surrounding them (their partners, their pets, their children and their relatives), women existing in their beautiful lives, enjoying it all so much they sometimes forget to exist in photographs. I want mums to exist in photographs with their families, and I want them to be proud to hang their photos on their walls.

Sessions at the beach always look good, no matter the season. When choosing a location for your photos, pick a place with lots of natural light, and a place your family will be happy at, where your children can be free to play, a session shouldn't be a burden for any of you, it should be fun!

Quick, go grab your babies to see how small they look in comparison to you. Go ahead and take a picture, repeat next time you look at them and feel they're growing too fast. You're gonna want a reminder this ❤️ I recommend having a professional session per year, (more during baby's first year) and taking lots of beautiful photos yourself in between sessions, skip the selfies whenever you can.

It's the coolest thing when I get shots of siblings interacting, it's a cliche but they're friends and relatives all at once .. (Yes the shots of them looking at the camera and smiling are nice too and very often require a bit of bribing 😆) Also I never pressure them to do anything they don't want to do, and the moment they've had enough of me I'm gone, your family's well being comes first, always. Sisterhood realness 😜 Do you have trouble getting photos of your children? It's funny how parents usually tell me their children run when the parents point a camera at their direction, but I come and they just let me take loads of cute pictures. It's not really a secret, I just come and I'm someone new, they usually get excited to show me their favourite toys, their cute bedroom decor and tell me all their cool stories... (more on next post)

Forever your baby.
Even when they learn learn to walk, learn to ride a bike. When they have their first sleepover, when they don't want you to kiss them in front of their friends. Before you know it, they'll be out there in the real world, heading off to their first job interview, dating, conquering their space in this world. But they'll always be your baby.
What will you have to look back on? We can't freeze time but photographs are keepsakes you'll always cherish.

I took a professional makeup course a few years ago, not just because I like makeup (and I do!), but because most makeup artists usually do a heavy makeup look even when the client might have preferred a more natural look. I wanted to honour my clients wishes, always. In fact, I'd rather photograph someone without a stitch of makeup on than have a client all dolled up and not looking/feeling like herself. The same thing applies when it comes to picking an outfit for a session. I told all the mums in this project the same thing: Pick an outfit you feel pretty when wearing, but that you'll also still look/feel like yourself in.
If you wouldn't normally wear a dress and heels, why would you wear one to a photo session? Doesn't Megan look incredible in this photo, looking like herself? I'm curious, tell me what you'd wear to your family session 👇

Breastfeeding fact number 10287 no one ever told me before I had Liam... Babies get easily distracted and unlatch mid-feed..If you were modest before motherhood will fix that reeeally quick 😅 I'm telling you us mums deserve a medal. Or better yet, the prettiest portraits with our babies 😉
