For the first time since the beginning of the war in Gaza, and after four failed attempts, U.N. Security Council approves a Malta-led resolution calling for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip”. The vote was 12-0 with the United States, United Kingdom and Russia abstaining.

Russia abstention was said to be due the rejection of their proposal of an amendment to the resolution that would have called for durable humanitarian pauses leading to a cease-fire. But it was rejected by a vote of 5 to 1.

Telephone & internet services are reported to gradually return to Gaza after a total blackout that lasted for about 2 days.

It's still unclear if it was the Israeli side that permitted the service back or if it's a substitute communication network operated by H®mas.

Elon Mask had earlier announced his company SpaceX to be ready to activate Star Link services with internationally recognized aid organizations in Gaza, the offer that was met by complete fury on the Israeli side with Israel's Communications Minister threatening to cut off contact with Starlink if Musk went ahead with such offer.

It's worth mentioning that Egyptian network had announced sending mobile units to Gaza border to boost communication network amid the blackout.

Following the deadliest night on Gaza since the 7th of October; H@mas announce the failure of the first strike on ground by the Israeli forces. Explosions were said to be heard in Tel Aviv and central occupied Palestine, after rocket salvos were fired from Gaza. A building in Be'er Sheva was directly hit by a missile launched from the Gaza Strip a short while ago as per Radio Isreal.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Egypt’s signing UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Minister of Culture and the Director of UNESCO in Cairo inaugurated the "House of Heritage" at Fustat's Traditional Crafts Center.

The festive program included the opening of "The Journey of the Holy Family" exhibition by the late artist Ikram Ammar, an exhibition of "Arabic Calligraphy" produced by the school of artist Khudair Elborsaiedy, and an artistic presentation of some of the items enlisted on the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage such as "Tahtib" and "El-Aragos".


The "House of Heritage" is set to contain the National Archive of Intangible Cultural Heritage! Its launch is considered an important step to enhancing public awareness of the values of cultural heritage, strengthening national efforts to preserve the intangible cultural heritage, and deepening society's understanding of such rich in values, customs, and practices Egyptian heritage.
