His Majesty Reth Kwong Dak arrives in Malakal

December 23, 2023— Malakal

His Majesty Reth Kwongo Dak Padiet, the reigning King of the Shilluk Kingdom, has arrived in Malakal en route to Fashoda, the kingdom's headquarters, after a year in the national capital, Juba.

His Excellency James Odhok Oyay, the governor of Upper Nile State, along with community leaders, welcomed the king at Malakal Airport.

In a statement to the media, the King conveyed his Christmas wishes for peace, security, and stability to the people of Upper Nile State and thanked the governor and his government for his reception.
The king also urged politicians to never again engage in fighting as Upper Nile needs peace now than ever before.

The arrival of His Majesty Reth Kwong Dak Padiet in Upper Nile State is anticipated to bring about much-needed peace and stability to the Chøllø kingdom and the entire region.

Governor James Odhok inspects the renovation project of the State Ministry of Labour and Public Services

November 24, 2023

The governor of Upper Nile this morning inspected the ongoing renovation of the state Ministry of Labor and Public Services.

This assessment is part of a series of major rehabilitation projects that the governor had pledged in his speeches to the people of Upper Nile State.

The governors' proactive involvement in these projects underscores his determination, envisaging a more prosperous and functional Upper Nile State.

In another developmental move, the Governor, on Thursday launched a project to renovate the internal roads in Malakal town to facilitate mobility and thereby contributing to security improvement in the town.

The public infrastructures in Malakal have been terribly damaged by the civil war causing hindrance to provisions of essential services such as transportation in the towns.

With that said, the governor's efforts to renovate the public infrastructures in the town comes at a time when they are needed the most.

Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Juba - South Sudan have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Egyptian and South Sudanese diplomatic institutes.

The Egyptian institute for diplomatic studies hosted a delegation from the ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of South Sudan, headed by the Undersecretary, Ambassador Mayen Dut, to discuss ways to develop existing aspects of cooperation between the two diplomatic institutes in the field of training.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on the Egyptian side by Ambassador Hamdi Loza, deputy foreign minister, and Undersecretary of the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation on South Sudanese side.

During the signing ceremony, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, deputy foreign minister, highlighted distinguished cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan at various levels, and Egypt's commitment to continuing to develop these relations.

For his part, ambassador Mayen Dut stressed his great appreciation for the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and Egypt's constant keenness to stand with South Sudan and provide it with all support it needs.

"All liberators are equal but some are more important than others"!. Some comrades are more important than the other comrades; simply because; not every person who joined a revolutionary or a liberation struggle was a hero and a true comrade. Heroism makes the difference here:
- Any comrade who demonstrated an extraordinary act of breviary in a combat; is a hero.
- Anynody who decided to leave behind everything he considered dear and valuable such as wife, education, children, wealth ect...in order to be "a warrior of good cause"; is a hero.
- A comrade who thought of liberating himself first before he embarks on liberating the others; is a hero.
- A comrade who trusted his people and never feared them; is a hero.
- A comrade who keeps his doors open and turns his house into an informal 'liberation school' whereby facts about 'our shared struggle' were/are objectively discussed and narratted without ignoring the other comrade or denying his contribution in the struggle; is a hero.
- Comrades who stayed together in the bush and shared every little they could get-as did Salva and Akwoch- are our heros.
- and if the children and grandchildren of your 'fallen comrade' could count on you the 'living comrade' and allow them to knock on your door any time; you are a hero.
- If you 'never leave a fallen comrade behind' but did struggle to evacuate or recover his remains and gave him a dignified burrial; you are a hero.

In this respect our late father, liberator, teacher, soldier, leader, protector of our wild animals and promotor of a safe and clean environment; is our Hero and was also a true comrade who was loyal to the SPLM Party untill his last breath.
General Alfred Akwoc Omoli was and indeed is our hero. Liberators never die.

Now, as we once more cleberrate his revolutionary legacy this weekend; I think that it is the time now to ask ourselves the following question:
What was the last message of the late Alfred Akwoch to us:
-The South Sudanese in generally, - The people of the Upper Nile particularly and indeed;
- The people of "BWODH"; his ancestral land, a humble village in the eastern bank of the Nile?
