Breaking News: Bebeto Bus Catches Fire on Kampala–Juba Route, Dozens Injured

Juba – A Bebeto bus traveling from Kampala to Juba caught fire last night, eyewitnesses reported.

According to passengers, the fire is believed to have started from the brake pad before quickly spreading through the vehicle. Panic ensued as travelers rushed to escape, with dozens sustaining injuries in the process.

Authorities have confirmed that no deaths have been recorded so far. However, 10 passengers are in critical condition and several others are receiving treatment for various injuries.

Investigations into the exact cause of the fire are ongoing.

Floodwaters have submerged entire villages across Fangak County, displacing hundreds of families women, children, and the elderly now seek refuge with little more than hope. Our youth have been working tirelessly, using bare hands and sandbags to repair broken d***s, but the scale of devastation demands immediate action.

We are calling on all well-wishers, humanitarian organizations, South Sudanese in the diaspora, and neighboring communities to stand with us.

Fangak is not just a place it’s our home, our heritage, our people. Let’s rise together and protect what remains.

Dear brothers, sisters, elders, leaders, diaspora, friends, and well-wishers of Fangak,

The *Fangak Youth Union (FYU)* is deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent floods that struck *Old Fangak on 31 August 2025*, displacing thousands of families. Children, mothers, and the elderly are the most affected, left without shelter, food, or protection. 💔

In response, we are launching an *Emergency Fundraising Appeal* under the theme:
🌟 *“Revive Fangak: Helping Flood Survivors Rebuild”* 🌟

📍 *Venue:* Nyakuron Cultural Center – Main Hall
🗓️ *Date:* Friday, 12th September 2025
