We are currently looking for an Arabic Linguistic Specialist with experience in translating and editing/proofing. Experience in using CAT Tools, style guides and reference materials is required as well. The Linguistic Specialist is a key player at TransPerfect, whose mastery of a particular language will allow them to provide translation and proofreading services within the Life Sciences and marketing fields. The Linguist Specialist will be responsible for all aspects regarding quality within certain language/geographic regions.

Description:

Understand TransPerfect’s quality standards and ensure they are upheld to meet client expectations
Take part in and pass all trainings required for Associate Linguists, including but not limited to their subject matter certification, tech tools, TPT production processes, and Quality Assurance processes
Easily navigate among company resources, including but not limited to, Confluence, Launchpad, technology, etc.
Perform all linguistic tasks according to project specifications, including but not limited to project instructions, reference materials, language assets (translation memory, glossary, style guide, etc.)
Follow internal and client processes on all projects
Work under close supervision of the Team Lead/a more senior member of the team
Achieve quality and efficiency targets as set by manager/supervisor
Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Required Skills:

Minimum Bachelor Degree Required
A degree in translation, linguistic or language studies, OR two or more years of experience in translation/proofing services
Native Level of Arabic
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English
Experience in using CAT tools, style guides instructions and reference materials
Flexibility and adaptability to the different assignments and tasks using the relevant skills and tools in each case (accuracy, creativity, terminology adequacy, etc.)
Ability to effectively multitask in order to simultaneously execute multiple projects
Ability to maintain professionalism and focus under pressure and tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team

Job purpose:

The Translator is responsible for efficiently translating company documents and presentations as needed across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct the translation and formatting of a variety of documents ranging from simple reports and emails to highly confidential large-scale Board Reports.
Provide a highly technical and accurate translation for all types of subjects, lengths, and sensitivity of text and vocabulary in a variety of different formats with short timelines for delivery.

Experience:

Three years of relevant experience in English-Arabic-English Translation
Previous experience in translating EdTech-specialized documents is a plus
Previous experience in interpretation is a plus

Technical Skills Required

Proficiency in E-A-E Translation, localization, transcreation and PEMT
Ability to use CAT tools and translation memory software is a plus
Ability to produce error-free texts in English and Arabic
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint
Knowledge of localization, i.e. cultural and community standards in the UAE

Saga Translations is a Brooklyn-based translation service that focuses on the creation of English subtitles for raw footage for international news reporting and documentaries. We have worked with multiple series on Netflix, Hulu, and HBO.

We are currently hiring linguists who can create English subtitles (.srt format) for 5 to 30 minutes of raw footage on a daily basis from now through early-mid December for a large documentary project on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

The raw footage will be a mix of interviews and vérité (daily life) footage (such as subjects of the documentary going through the daily lives of individuals in Israel and Gaza). Some archival footage will be sent as well for translation (news clips, TikToks, general social media posts).

Linguists will not need to be available every day, but we would like to hire linguists who would be able to help at least 1-2 days a week.

NOTE: We are prioritizing the hiring of those who are able to translate both Hebrew and Arabic, but still welcome those who translate only from Hebrew-English and Arabic-English. In the application form, please indicate if you are bilingual in both Hebrew and Arabic as some assigned footage we are working with may contain a mix of both languages.

As part of the firm’s in-house translation team, the FIE Arabic Translator will provide translation services to internal clients across Sales, Service, Research, Content, Marketing, Legal and Compliance, and other groups. What we’re looking for
RWS Group is looking for Search Engine Evaluators to assess and provide feedback on text, audio, image, or video search results based on specific search queries. The goal of the project is to help to understand people’s intentions to better train online search engines and do so by providing ratings for the project.

Equipment you’ll need
High-speed and reliable internet connection (cable modem, DSL, etc.)
A smartphone and a personal computer running the latest version of Google Chrome
State-of-the-art antivirus software to protect your computer as you surf the web
Windows or Mac OS X operating system

Job requirements
Fluent in English to be able to follow instructions and guidelines
Native-level fluency of target language
Ability to continually maintain quality and accuracy requirements throughout the project
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of popular culture in your locale
Web-savvy and an expert in search
Responsible, reliable, and communicative
Only one person per household can participate in this project
