Geburt

Bei der Geburt eines Kindes spricht der Vater ein gebet in das Ohr des Säuglings, um so die schlechten und bösen Geister fernzuhalten. Anschließend wird der Name gewählt. dies ist meist ein Heiliger Name, wie Z.B. Mohamed, Ali, Omar oder Abdullah für einen Jungen oder Fatima, Zeineb usw. für ein Mädchen

eine Woche nach der Geburt findet eine Zeremonie statt, bei der mit Zuckerguss überzogene Mandeln verteilt werden und Familienangehörige Kerzen für das Neugeborene anzünden. bis zur Pubertät werden die Kinder von der Mutter großgezogen.

WEPET RENPET NEFERT 𓄋 𓆳 𓄤 𓈗

HAPPY NEW YEAR _ سنة جديدة سعيدة

To celebrate the new year in ancient Egypt, courtiers gave gifts to the pharaoh, some with the words wepet renpet nefert inscribed upon them; this basically translates as 'Happy New Year.' Ordinary Egyptians also exchanged gifts, and took time off from work; the Deir el-Medina workmen - those who cut and decorated the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings - took nine days off in total: the last day of the year, the five 'days upon the year', and the first three days of the new year. Not bad really.

New Year's Day itself - called wepet renpet 'the Opener of the Year' - was regarded as the birthday of the god Re-Horakhety.

So, this new year celebration, try to approach the occasion like an ancient Egyptian: keep safe from evil plague-infested demonic murderers this New Year's Eve, and (if awake and functioning) celebrate the rising sun on New Year's Day, safe in the knowledge that the sun god has defeated his enemies and has been reborn anew!

Ägyptische Papyrus rollen

Ägyptische Papyrusrollen waren ein wichtiger Schreibträger in der antiken ägyptischen Kultur. Papyrus ist ein Material, das aus den Fasern der Papyrusstaude hergestellt wird, die in den Feuchtgebieten des Niltals wächst. Es war eine der frühesten Formen von Papier und wurde in Ägypten seit etwa 3000 v. Chr. verwendet.

Die Herstellung von Papyrus begann mit dem Schneiden der Papyrusstängel in dünne Streifen, die dann in mehreren Schichten angeordnet und mit Wasser benetzt wurden. Anschließend wurde das Material durch Pressen und Trocknen verfestigt, um eine flache, flexible Oberfläche zu erhalten, die zum Schreiben verwendet werden konnte.

Schriftgelehrte, Beamte, Priester und andere Schreibenden nutzten Papyrusrollen, um eine Vielzahl von Texten zu verfassen, darunter religiöse Texte, literarische Werke, historische Aufzeichnungen, Verträge und alltägliche Dokumente. Um auf die Papyrusrolle zu schreiben, verwendeten sie Tinte aus Ruß oder Eisenoxid, die mit einem Schreibrohr oder Pinsel aufgetragen wurde.

Papyrusrollen wurden in der Regel von einer Seite zur anderen entrollt, und der Text wurde von oben nach unten geschrieben. Die Enden der Rolle wurden oft mit Schutzkappen versehen, um das Ausfransen des Papyrus zu verhindern und die Haltbarkeit zu erhöhen.

Die meisten Papyrusrollen sind leider nicht gut erhalten geblieben, da das Material im Laufe der Zeit zerfallen kann, besonders wenn es nicht in trockenen Bedingungen aufbewahrt wurde. Dennoch haben Archäologen und Historiker viele wichtige Informationen über das antike Ägypten aus den erhaltenen Papyrusfragmenten und -rollen gewonnen. Diese einzigartigen Artefakte bieten uns wertvolle Einblicke in die Kultur, Geschichte, Religion und Sprache dieser faszinierenden Zivilisation.
