I am a translator of fiction and literary non fiction from Estonian and Russian into English. I am a literary translator from Estonian and Russian to English.

I am qualified with a BA (hons) in Russian Studies, MA in Politics, UK Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation, C2 Russian and C1 Estonian. Member of UK Society of Authors. I have been published by Dalkey Archive (Best European Fiction three years running), and Words Without Borders, and have publications forthcoming with Pushkin Press and Vagabond Voices. Prior to becoming a translator I wo

rked for the UK Foreign Office for 12 years in London, Moscow and Tallinn (as Deputy Head of Mission). I am also an improvising and composing double bass player, studying at the Estonian Music Academy.
