Today Di McDonald lives on high alert. Max Gardiner, her stalker walks freely amongst us and she fears everyday that he will come looking for her.

She was basically given the same advice she was given nearly 6yrs ago when the stalking started! She is so worried he will continue to stalk her that she wants Gardiner to wear an electronic ankle bracelet to monitor his movements.

Gardiner was charged with stalking in 2019, four years after Di McDonald first went to police.
He eventually plead guilty to stalking her for a three-year period between 2015 and 2018.

He was sentenced in February 2020 to eight months in prison and a two-year community service on his release.

The 29-year-old had been stalking his algebra teacher, Mary, for years and even broke into her in-laws’ house after mistaking it for her residence.

Wielding a gun, Shiue approached Mary and Beth as they made their way to their car in Roseville, Minn. He bound their hands and forced them into the vehicle’s trunk.

It's a sad day when a victim complains to authorities and her pleas for help sees her getting fined for wasting police's time rather than be taken seriously.

Although the true criminal here is her stalker/murderer not the police but that day set her on a tragic trajectory.

Here we are, at the final episode of our Stalking a Crime series! If this journey has taught us anything, it definitely has been to change the way we perceive this crime.
The word "stalking" has been thrown around so often in people's daily lives yet failed to educate our society on the true meaning and dangers of this crime.
As if it was just another new trend that'll soon fade or worse yet, we become so accustomed to that we become desensitised by it.
Let's join the fight, let's fight for Alice and the countless victims and the many more who are currently too afraid to speak up, to report and leave. It is your right as a human being to have a decent and sane quality of life.

With the arrival of social networks into our home and at our fingertips emerged the good, the bad and unfortunately the truly ugly.

Finally after a few technical difficulties these past couple of days we're able to release our latest episode of

Stalking is not only a serious crime but a potentially murderous one inflicted on a subject of obsession. So how far would you say a serial stalker of multiple subjects would go?

8 victims came forward officially to face their tormentor, a couple more too afraid (understandably so) but only 4 vindicated... or are they? A 10 year long campaign of harassment, cyber stalking & cyberbullying... a 5.5 year sentence with one promise "I will be back"

It's becoming clearer and clearer that a complete reform on how stalking cases are handled on a legal and law enforcement standpoint is needed. This is a case that is so recent that the perpetrator has only just been found guilty this summer 2022.
And how is it possible that victims are still struggling to be heard, to feel safe and for our society to understand the devastating ramifications stalking causes physically, emotionally, mentally and financially on its victims.

A closer look at the recent stalking case of Isla Traquair. A woman who now bears the invisible scars left behind by the viciously terrifying actions of a deranged man.

It's time for action, a change in the system, new legislation.

Why are the victims ending up being the biggest losers in a stalking /abusive situation? What good is a 1 year order of protection if it does not make the victim feel safer or able to live in their own home.

If the custody for this type of crime / offense is a mere 6 months with no requirement to register as a stalker wherever the offender lives or moves or even a registry to keep track of said offender so they can somewhat be deterred from reoffending?

If that's the case how does law enforcement stop someone with stalking traits from reoffending with either the same victim or setting their sight on a new prey?

We unfortunately still have more questions than answers...

Episode 15 - So we dug even further in history to figure out how far back we could find cases of stalking. And we found one, although the information we could find about the case itself was fairly limited and pretty much all sources held the same information.

We appear to talk more about the perpetrator than the victim here but that's only because as historic as this case became and her surname synonymous with system reform in the U.S legal system, there is unfortunately not enough information about the victim herself.

Something we are sad about because just as her name lives on, so should the memory of her as a person..
