The 74-year-old model, mother of billionaire Elon Musk, Maye Musk, shared this more than 35 years ago when her son was just 14. Elon Musk recommended that she invest $1,000 in shares and buy shares of a company he “actually believes in,” despite the broker saying the investment was a “bad idea”.

What Scorsese film would have been better if directed by Spielberg and vice versa?
Interesting question.

In regards to Spielberg doing a Scorsese film, I know I may be in a minority but I never had much love for Scorsese's Gangs of New York (2002). I've never been able to sit through the entire film. In my honest opinion, just because the epoch the film is based on is an ugly period in history, it doesn’t mean that the film has to be inherently ugly. In the comparable and far superior Once Upon A Time in America (1984), Sergio Leone captures the pockets of childhood innocence and warm camaraderie in a truly poetic manner despite the inherent ugliness of the period documented.

In Gangs of New York everywhere looked like a filthy trash heap. All the main characters were as****es. Everyone was somehow dressed in the most rattiest rags they could find. I think Scorsese was a little heavy handed in demonstrating the chaotic grittiness of the period.

With the exception of Daniel Day Lewis the entire cast gave mediocre performances. The colours and camera work of the cinematography was glaring and unsettling and the whole revenge arc story didnt seem to have much of a point in the context it was used. In a nutshell the film was just a pointless, ugly film that just happened to have a measure of historical accuracy.

Spielberg is the King of demonstrating the humanity that can be found in the absolute darkest periods of history. He does this without undermining historical accuracy or succumbing to fluffy melodrama. Of course the chief examples being Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. I think if Spielberg was given the job to direct Gangs of New York, the final product would've been a superior film with fleshed out, relatable characters, a better plot and overall a much more engaging experience for the senses.

In regards to Scorsese doing a Spielberg film, I think the there is one film that was right up Scorsese’s alley that I think Spielberg’s did a disservice. Scorsese's eye for realism and portraying characters in their raw, unlikable form would've created a better product.

No. It's not Munich (2005)

It's Catch Me if You Can.

The film was a the feelgood blockbuster movie of 2002. Frank Abagnale Jr was the antihero everyone couldn’t help but love, especially when portrayed by hearthtrob Leonardo DiCaprio. I enjoyed the movie when it premiered but it has aged poorly as of recently. Abagnale Jr was not just a scammer, it has been revealed that he is also a pathological liar. Much of the events described in his book are either grossly exaggerated or completely untrue. When you watch the film now you are treated to a self-indulgent, ego-stroking feast of fakery.

I think Scorsese would've been a bit more skeptical towards the author's story and do the proper research into Abagnale Jr's life. The story would've been less attractive and a lot more cynical with moments of downright nastiness (very much in the vein of Raging Bull and The Wolf of Wall Street) but it might have been a compelling portrait of a fractured individual who thought more of himself than he actually was. It definitely wouldn't have the embarrassment that Catch Me if You Can suffers from today.

So in conclusion, Spielberg and Scorsese should’ve simply traded director seats in the year 2002.

What legendary director despised the actor that he directed to an Oscar?
Not an Oscar but still interesting.

Director Michael Reeves was known to dislike directing Vincent Price in the film the Witchfinder General.

Apparently Reeves was not happy that Price was picked to play the role of Matthew Hopkins. Price had been in 75 films at this point and he had done several for American International Pictures. He was the studio pick for the film because of his high recognizability and the fact he had done many films in the horror genere. But Reeves viewed Price as a camp actor who would lower the quality of the film’s content, which was a lawyer on a hell bent mission to seek out witches and get confessions out of them. Then executing them.

The result was a lot of friction on set by Reeves towards Price. This made Price unsure of what Reeves was looking for in terms of a performance. However this atmosphere seemed to help Price in the end.

He gives a more serious performance than usual and the film has since become a cult classic.

Which movie director threatened actor Klaus Kinski's life?
Klaus Kinski and German filmmaker Werner Herzog had a violent clash, during the filming of their first collaboration - Aguirre Wrath of God.

The working conditions were challenging to say the least, which did little to defuse the tension between Kinski and Herzog. At one point, Kinski threatened to walk out on the film. Apparently, Herzog picked up a rifle and told him that if he left, he would shoot him dead. Kinski decided to remain and finish the production.

The two men had a volatile, complicated working relationship but I believe there was also a deep respect between them.

What movies or TV series had seemingly bad acting or writing but then are explained by a later scene, episode or even next movie/season?
Dark City is an odd movie at first. It feels like a noir film, but the time period seems unfixed. Many of the characters have a strange detachment - almost dreamlike.

Beware - there be spoilers below!

We later find that these people have been abducted by aliens for experimentation. Every night they are put to sleep and some of them are injected with a new set of artificially created memories. One night a couple is a poor and hunched over a tiny dinner table. The next they are rich, eating at opposite ends of a table that can fit twenty people.

Over time some of them begin becoming aware of this and this awareness changes them in different ways. The acting that seemed disassociated was because their personalities were being rewritten continually with artificial changes. It is supposed to be strange and feel off. As they learn more, they experience confusion and shock and horror. When you understand this, the acting is amazing.

Kiefer Sutherland plays one of the few humans who knows who he is. He is the person who mixes the memories for the aliens. But they have altered him to be more compliant and to punish him. He speaks very strangely as he deals with his mental damage.

What are some of the best scene-stealing performances by a supporting actor/actress in a film?
In 1967, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda were paired up as a newlywed couple in the delightful romantic comedy, Barefoot in the Park. Redford plays Paul, the straight-laced attorney, and Jane Fonda is the free-spirited Corie, in a classic case of “opposites attract.”

Throughout the movie, there is a back and forth between Paul being too stuffy and Corie being far too capricious.

At a certain point, the audience is introduced to the flamboyant and mesmerizing Victor Velasco, as played by Charles Boyer. He’s Paul and Corie’s upstairs neighbor, living the life of a bon vivant, and just lighting up the screen whenever he’s in our presence. Velasco does not get much screen time overall, but he’s able to make a huge impact while he’s there.
