Skyggeprofiler i sociale netværk indeholder oplysninger om personer, der ikke er medlemmer. I øjeblikket er skyggeprofiler næsten umulige at forhindre ved brug af tekniske midler, udgør et kollektivt problem for samfundet og er et forhold, der er gået stort set ureguleret indtil videre.
