Following the release of the much acclaimed "VIII", Vicinity started working on new tunes while in parallel preparing their live show to showcase the newest music.

For 2025 they have already lined up the first headlining show in Trondheim on May 3rd, and are looking to add more dates and locations in the future.

The writing for the new album is progressing well, and there will be both demoing and actual recording going on through 2025. The boys wish to extend a big thanks to fans, press and collaborators for the awesome reception that "VIII" got - it was above and beyond!

Danish death/thrash band AVARICE has some huge news that we have been looking forward to sharing with you 🙌 We are currently working on writing our second studio album 💪 It’s going to be what AVARICE is all about. Faster and heavier than ever 💀 Also, we can’t wait to hit the road in 2025. 🔥 Update from Advocacy Denmark 🔥
"Advocacy is gearing up for an exciting 2025 with plenty of plans in motion. In February, we’ll hit the studio with Frederik Uglebjerg to record drums for our upcoming releases. This fall, we’re thrilled to release a brand-new single and music video, set to drop in September 2025 on Uprising Records.
Live shows are a big focus for us, and we’ve already confirmed a concert at Lygten Station (Copenhagen, Denmark) on October 18th. Beyond that, we’re working hard to expand our schedule with even more gigs to bring our music to more stages.
On a personal note, we’re excited to share that our guitarist Søren Wind has recently been sponsored by The Picks House – awesome for him and for Advocacy as a band.
Thanks so much for supporting us and helping us spread the word. Let us know if there’s anything else you need – we’re ready to make some progressive noise!"

We might have only released two albums this year but, looking back now, 2024 prog harvest was the finest quality!

Advocacy Denmark and Vicinity both released albums that have stood the test of time so far and deserve to be in any prog metal best-of end-of-year list.

The sublime Finnish progressive metal act Oddland has been confirmed as a direct support act for the Swedish prog-leaders Soen - a tour that will be running through large parts of Europe for a full month in the fall of 2024.

After a European tour in May 2022, ODDLAND has been playing festival shows and writing songs for the follow-up to "Vermilion" - their last album released bu Uprising Records, which was praised to the sky by media and fans alike, and to prepare for the release of the next album, the band is thrilled to get the opportunity to perform the "Vermilion" songs and some older tunes as well, once more.

Battering Ram - new digital single "The World Belongs To Me" out now

BATTERING RAM has been slowly brewing new music in the shadows and amidst their constant live performances. And now it’s time to finally unleash the Swedes’ new single. “The World Belongs To Me” is, as usual, a classic straightforward Battering Ram tune: hard pumpin’ metal, made from the ground, built to last.

The base was built by the guitar player Jonas Edmark and built up in the rehearsal room, with the finishing touch done in the studio. As always. The Battering Ram way, so to speak.

Vicinity - new digital single "Distance" out next week

After announcing their new album “VIII”, Norwegian progsters VICINITY will now release a new digital single - the second - from the upcoming record on Friday next week. There will be a video for it too.

“Distance” is the chosen song this time. A direct, riff-based track, with a verse almost leaning into synthwave. The lyrical theme dwells on some of the darker tendencies of the human psyche. The song leans both into traditional prog metal bands like Threshold, as well as newer acts like Haken.

Vicinity - new single/lyric video "Purpose" out now

Norway’s VICINITY kicks off their upcoming album promotion round with the release of the first digital single and lyric from the record.

A progressive metal tune that showcases the technical sides of Vicinity, while maintaining their affinity for strong melodies and relatable lyrical themes. This is also the first song to be released with new vocalist Erling Malm. Fans of bands like Threshold, Circus Maximus and Dream Theater should really check this one out.
