The home studio got a minor upgrade this weekend!! Added a few more sound absorbers (acoustics panels made of foam) on the walls and one on the ceiling + new lamp!! 🥳

It's not a big change, since I've already done a lot of acoustic treatment in here as you can see. But the room acoustics should now be slightly better suited for mixing and recording, so I think it's worth it 😁

A Sound Effect just announced the winners for the Spectravelers sound design contest this week, and apparently my submission won the category for Best Retro Sci-Fi Sound Design !

I'm so thankful for this, especially since it's my first time winning anything based on my sound design! Also, considering how many amazing designs were submitted for the contest, I feel honored that my design was chosen as one of the winners. The raw electromagnetic field recordings that everyone used as material for the contest come from the "Quantum - Electromagnetic Field Library" by Spectravelers.

Went down to Aarhus harbour and recorded a bunch of stuff, just with my phone. The phone recordings don't sound awesome on their own, but I think they bring some nice features to the overall redesign, so I decided to keep them in the mix. Most of the sound design is still consisting of old recordings and library stuff, though.

I've begun a new sound redesign. This time it's Deep Rock Galactic by Ghost Ship Games, and I'm focusing on the super cool character, called the Driller. He's got a flamethrower, plasma gun and giant drill-arms - what more do you need?! :D

Here's a compilation of all the sfx breakdowns, I made for this short gameplay sequence.

Making the video:
I captured the gameplay footage on my Xbox One, repeatedly loading my save point to go rampage on these poor NPCs again and again, until I had around 20 seconds of hilarious mayhem, well suited for a short redesign.

Making the redesign:
I had a lot of fun recording the voices, and using Vital Synth for the UI sfx + the gr***de countdown sound. The rest was made by layering tons of library sounds on top of each other, and sculpting each sound effect (for example the wooshes, clothes, and body impacts).

I hope you've enjoyed this redesign! Now I'm on to the next one: Deep Rock Galactic by Ghost Ship Games, where I plan on showcasing three other kinds of weapons (Plasma Gun, Flamethrower, and Pickaxe).

The sounds of Agent 47 on a sword-swinging killing spree. Sounds being showcased here include swooshes, vibrating metal, flesh-like fx, cloth flabbing, body impacts, synthesizer and voices.

I love messing around with animal samples for monster sfx! Here I threw in a few cats, bears and pigs, and gave them some tremolo.

Here's some wacky metal music! My old friend Andreas Liboriussen and I wanted to make something inspired by the Doom Eternal soundtrack, but with a fun little twist: The "song" is constantly switching between Reaper and Ableton Live!

Synth music time!
A few days ago I composed this little music loop for Dirty Planet Earth, a prototype game developed by my friend Filipe Muniz as part of his job application for a brazilian developer.
For his assignment he had one week to design a fun and educational game about recycling, and I was asked to help out with the music/sfx.
It's my first time making music in Reaper, so I still have a lot of learning to do, but I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless :)

Trying to find some cool footage to put in my demo reel, so I did some more gameplay captures. These are from two game jams, where I had a lot of fun jamming with some friends.

Unfortunately, my video editor, VSDC, has betrayed me... it can't handle the size of the video project!
So now I'm remaking the entire reel in premiere pro instead, yaay :'D
