💬How does it feel to play this famous work of cello literature as a trio with tiefsaits?
"It's like a meeting of our interpretations of this suite, which then become a common idea. We feel connected, supported, challenged, constantly searching and yet it has become a chamber music work for us in the moments we play it. This creates a kind of intoxication, there is an incredible power. On the one hand, through the progressive pull of the bass part, which is taken over by the viola da gamba. Its depth adds a new dimension. Secondly, through the lively dialogue between the two cellos: in the interplay of their colours, in moments of pushing and releasing, of tension and relaxation and finally of coming together."

💬Rich or poor, young or old, great or small – almost everyone in town knew at least the basic figures of this improvisational song and dance. It was danced in theaters and on the streets, from the taverns and dance halls to the palaces of nobles. The fandango, usually accompanied by a guitar and castanets, was and is fundamentally an expression of joie de vivre!
💃🏽And - as many a prudish contemporary at the time lamented - it was also a dance of amorous pleasure: "Their bodies move to the cadences of the music, full of passionate excitement, with extremely voluptuous gestures, with stamping feet, glances, leaps, all the movements brimming with lascivious intentions", complained the Dean of Alicante in 1712. If that is not proof enough of the charms of the fandango, let it be noted that even Giacomo Casanova himself expressly
described the fandango as "the most seductive and voluptuous dance in the world". And he should know...

🇬🇧 La Ninfea (Italian the water lily) “is one of the liveliest and most creative early music ensembles in Germany.” (Radio Bremen)
The ensemble feels just as at home in renowned venues such as the Musikverein Wien or the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg as it does in small music societes or schools. This is because La Ninfea is convinced that music belongs to all places and can fascinate everyone, everywhere. La Ninfea's work focuses on concept-based programs, often developed as interdisciplinary projects with puppetry, text or dance, and thus reaches various people interested in culture in a direct and creative way. Historically informed performance practice, detailed research and creative communication do not contradict each other, rather combination they are the driving force for the ensemble. “This is how music should be performed: as if the ink wasn't yet dry, spontaneous and fresh, but with the most precise research beforehand.” (Ö1)

Coming soon: New Album by Concierto Ibérico
»Fandango Inspiración«
🔜Release: 6.6.25

🇬🇧 Ensemble Concierto Ibérico plays music from the Renaissance to the Romantic era on historical winds and “all kinds“ of period instruments.
We aim to further the intercultural exchange between Spain and the rest of Europe that has existed since the mid-sixteenth to mid-seventeenth century “Siglo de Oro“ – Spain’s Golden Age.
Our understanding of intercultural influences goes beyond European borders to include connections between the Iberian peninsula and Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, allowing audiences to join us in a modern intercultural dialogue between the sounds of the past and the world of today.
