Exploring The Island Less Traveled: Romblon
I visited a friend and her family in Tablas, Romblon. Even though the popular Boracay island is just nearby, tourism here is not really a thing and the locals want to keep to themselves. Public transport is scarce and motorbike rentals are not common here. I was really lucky to know someone who knew someone who would lend me their bike.
Exploring this island was exciting! I had the whole beach literally to myself, I got to spend some quality time with friends and get to know more people who decided to settle here on the island away from the more popular islands of the Philippines. Island life is really something else compared to city life. Whole different story!

"One And A Half Pinoy"
As always, my rainman powers have come to fruition when we first arrived in Slovenia ☔️. We were greeted with a 4 full days of rain 🌧️and flood in the famous Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj :(( But soon after, we got to experience nice views of the Julian Alps ⛰️, the Juliana Botanical Garden 🪴, got to hike the Soča trail and witness the incredibly blue Soča river 🙌
Despite the rain, it was an incredibly nice trip and I can just recommend everyone to explore Slovenia!
Here are some of the places we explored:
Lake Bohinj (flooded)
Lake Bled
Vintgar Gorge
Trenta Village
Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden
Soča Trail along the Soča River
Kape de Filipina - The World's Forgotten Coffee (Short Doc)
In the last couple years I created a passion for exploring rare specialty coffee ☕️and I ventured into the world of Philippine coffee.
This short documentary was only possible with the help of Kape de Filipina that kickstarted it all. Thanks to The Philippine Coffee Board for the insightful interviews and coffee farms and thank you Ms Chit Juan for the great collaboration!
Not to mention RJ Mores Paulo for the good vibes on site and Goldweene Quetulio for being our tour guide! Thanks Commune for the roasting, Vìàn Càcèrès for the great insight, thanks Yasser, the titas, the driver and everyone involved in this project 🤗😁
Philippine coffee, especially Barako (the 4th and rare Liberica bean) has yet to be discovered world wide. But the bottle neck is on the agriculture side. Let's help plant more trees and make space for more farms.
For international coffee lovers: If you're curious, you can also try and buy some Philippine Coffee at my friends place Kape de Filipina in Berlin.
