When Mexican drummer Fito de la Parra was asked to join Canned Heat in 1967, after the release of their self-titled debut album, his answer was heartfelt:"I was born to play in Canned Heat," he told his new bandmates. “ I knew that Canned Heat was not making any money," he explains. “It was a blues band. But I loved the way they sounded, I loved their personalities and their music and I did feel it was going to be the most important move in my life. And it was."
