Snow Trail - a Post Punk three piece from Jena and yet so much more. Mid 2023 the dear connected me and the band. We talked through a couple of production approaches. Snow Trail had some great resources for the recordings on their side and we agreed to reamp some signals and mix and master in a couple of attended sessions at BRA.
We shaped this spacial sound without serving sound aesthetics that would be associated with wavy post punk and went for a bold and strong sound without tending to become aggressiv or narrow. Resonate and get carried into the dark and dusty tale of Snowtrails upcoming album. Those guys rock.

is Canadian musician, terrific songwriter, focused producer and last but not least the kindest person. Earlier this year we had two sessions together to master his latest album which he produced himself in his Berlin based studio. His music is „dark, honest and raw“. This is a very special day for me today. It’s because release their first song of a good bunch of tracks they laid down at Blank Room Audio earlier this year. The synth pop outfit from the north combines wavy synths, groovy drum computers and lyrics with a critical sight on social disruptions. All synths and drums were recorded entirely analog using a good heap of tube saturation and compression. Mixed and mastered at BRA.

My interest in sound engineering began when I found my dads tape recorder on the attic when I was ten years old.
There was still tape on that recorder and when I hit play, Wuthering Heights by would play from the speakers. To have music preserved on a tape deeply triggered my interest in sound engineering and recording.
About thirty years later I bought my first own tape recorder after a long search and some headaches.
I fully restored the machine to have it in a flawlessly operating state sound wise.

As most of you people know - I ll open my recording studio in March this year and the first productions are already booked. As I will offer a truly unique sound I was searching for microphones for Rack and Floor Toms mainly and wanted to have C12 style mics. I found a good base to modify. I changed the circuit to produce less saturation in the highs (Thanks to Fox Audio Research) I changed the tubes to be the same on all the mics and changed the capsules from centre to edge termination. All this changed the articulation of the mics a lot. Sibilant sounds got much softer transforming harsh zzz-sounds into soft ssh-sounds. Looking so much forward the get them to record your drums, guitars and vocals. Drop me a message if you want to record your band, ensemble or solo act this year.

Hello world. I have not been posting for ages. Why is that? Some real talk - I am building a new studio and work as a full time sound engineer at and . This is a damn dream coming true. Earning 50k+ with audio productions seamed to be super far away and now I am at a point where there is so much work going on that I am barely able to accomplish everything within a 40h week. This being said, social media is the first thing to suffer under these circumstances. Sorry for this. I always want to keep you posted about all the things going on in the studio. Long story short.
