I‘m super happy to share a BRAND NEW LIVE SET with you,
recorded exclusively for the amazing platform Tracklistings!

Here‘s the story behind it:
Benedikt Schmidt - under his moniker Snuffo - delivers a 90-minute Live set recorded for Tracklistings at his home studio in Spain. The set encapsulates his raw approach to music-making which the artist has reinvented during the pandemic as a second artistic awakening. Using the same machines to perform on stage, Snuffo has reimagined an era of his personal life dating back to early 90s when he started immersing himself deeper into electronic music whether by collecting records, recording DJ mixes for radios , watching ‘strange’ electronic music videos or reading Techno magazines
Tracklistings, as a platform, was a choice closer to home for Schmidt who admires it for preserving a true essence of underground music, especially with the oversaturation that the musical sphere is experiencing nowadays. It still reserved a creative integrity by pushing sounds that could have little to no place elsewhere.
As for the process, Schmidt recorded the set after the first two trials where he was dissatisfied with the beginning of the set. The third round was a charm - totally in the zone, he was immersed in the fluidity of creation with the machines. And the first time in five years that he lived in his home, Schmidt received his first noise complaint: seclusion in creation?!
When asked about the experiential difference between recording a live set for a radio or a podcast and that of a club, Schmidt says, “Recording a set at home is always different to performing it in a club. You have the same equipment and play with it in the same way as in the club. But the dynamics are different. At home you are alone, you don't react to any circumstances, to the crowd or to any internal sensors. You are fully concentrated on the music and lose yourself in it, without anyone dancing or cheering- you still sweat!
When recording for podcasts, I often play out the patterns much longer than I would perhaps do under live conditions in a club. I play the sets for the unknown listeners out there.”
With this set, Snuffo invites new listeners and old alike to join him on a one-off unique journey to his musical world where his own ideas and versions of what Techno is (and little electro!) reside.
