As the year draws to a close, we would like to take a brief look at the past 12 months and reach out with a heartfelt thank you to all artists for their music. It's been a beautiful and fulfilling ride 🎢

We've had the great privilege and joy to work on amazing projects such as 'In The Cell Of Dreams', 'From Moments', 'Zensibility', 'Panta Rhei', 'Ambient Layers Vol. II' and more.

We approach the upcoming year with great excitement and want to thank all of you for tuning in and supporting the music.

I’m extremely happy to share with you my new single DARK HORSE out today on !

This track is very dear to my heart and represents a feeling of mystery, unkown and unexplored. I wanted to create a musical space in which I could be free to let my emotions flow in a very unconditioned way.

Classically-trained Italian violinist, composer and producer Laura Masotto presents "Dark Horse", releasing today on 7K!.

Skillfully blending violin, viola and cello with electronic sounds Masotto begins the track with the arrangement for a string quartet, which develops throughout the piece into an ethereal moment punctuated by the addition of a synth choir.

"I wanted to create a musical space in which I could be free to improvise. This allowed me to let my emotions flow in a very unconditioned way and this is how this track was born", says Masotto.

The single comes along with a short film directed by Jarno & Marco Morandi.

𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚, the second single taken from Roedelius & Arnold Kasar's upcoming album "Zensibility" is out today 🌼

Building on a soothing, warm, and cloud-like texture, crystal-clear synth nuances patiently unfold contributing to a subliminal calm. A calm which forms the heart of "Zensibility", as musical excesses are deliberately spared in order to concentrate on the present moment in all its natural beauty - as per the spirit of Zen practice.

Arnold on the creation process: "We went into these sessions without any arrangement, without any pre-produced demos. Usually, there was silence in the room and Joachim began to play, precisely, like a metronome, withdrawn, yet full of expression. Afterwards, it was easy for me to respond with very selected timbres and tones."

Come to your senses with Hans-Joachim Roedelius & Arnold Kasar announcing their second album "Zensibility" – with the first single "Wordless" out now.

Two musicians without any need to proof anything to anyone anymore, but who – throughout their careers – were confronted with expectations of delivering avant-garde or groundbreaking compositions, consciously decided to put their ego behind for the recording of “Zensibility”, in order to first listen to each others playing to only then add what was missing musically.
The leitmotif running through the entire album, possibly attributable to Roedelius' advanced age – of almost 90 years – is an unagitated, meditative basic calm.

“Zensibility” has evolved into an incredibly personal, emotional and, most importantly, respectful album, in the sense that two gifted musicians complement each other congenially instead of playing past each other.

The album will be out in full on December 1st.

As this very special project and intense tour has come to an end, we look back at deeply touching, humbling and mind-expanding moments that, once again, cement the impact and meaning music can achieve. Thank you to Sam, Wacław Zimpel, Siddhartha Belmannu, Pedro Maia and everyone involved in making this a unique experience.

At 7K! we're humbled and happy to see this record fly and connect with more souls out there.

It is with great pleasure that – following the release of "In The Cell Of Dreams" – we announce the "Evening Raga by Siddharta Belmannu and Waclaw Zimpel" taking place this Sunday 17th at Wilhelm Hallen in Berlin as part of the immersive sonic "The Sound of the Multitude" project by Studio Nik Nowak.

This project is dedicated to the exploration of the potential of the sonic realm in a wide-range of socio-political and cultural contexts. Its intricate complexity renders it more comparable to an open-ended and collaborative electronic instrument than to merely a speaker of outsized yet passive proportions.

Siddhartha Belmannu will perform an evening raga - an improvisation based on one of the thousands of Indian scales, called ragas, assigned to a particular moment of the day. He will be accompanied on electronically processed alto clarinet by Wacław Zimpel.

The idea is to find a space where the fusion of two different traditions is more than just putting them together on one stage. It is an attempt to find a space of free musical expression, in which elements of different musical worlds work together synergistically.

The album listening session will take place at 12am followed by a live performance starting at 4.30pm.

It fills us with joy to see ‘In The Cell of Dreams’ by Shackleton & Wacław Zimpel with Siddhartha Belmannu released in full today.

The album consists of four long form tracks which eschew the traditional verse and chorus structure in favour of getting lost within the trance. It is light and shadow, nuance, sadness, elation and the whole range in between. Ultimately, if the whole album could be reduced to one overarching essence, it is intended to be beautiful 🔮

Davide Tomat is a composer, artist and sound designer. While releasing music as solo artist he also co-runs the a/v project SPIEM.IM and the duo Tomat Petrella. His collaborations range from scores for installations and theatre to soundtracks for international movies and documentaries.

'Syntetik' by Polish duo Skalpel is out today and marks the third single of the upcoming Ambient Layers Vol. II compilation – landing May 26 🌈

Throughout the years Skalpel, originally from Wrocław, Poland, have been blending local, traditional jazz inspirations by means of new electronica. This original approach sparked international interest, resulting in two enthusiastically received albums which paved the way to the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Award nomination.

Syntetik perfectly covers origins of Skalpel's music - it’s like a breeze with this calm and melancholic formula of moody ambients, jazzy drums and upright bass sounds. Additional some dubby sounds and sax follow the main groove and together with synthesisers complete the soundtrack.

It fills us with joy to see Marconi Union's "Inland Borders" released today as the second single of our Ambient Layers Vol. II compilation – out in full on May 26 🪐

Marconi Union have steadily developed and refined a unique musical identity, evoking emotions from gracefully blending elements of dub, jazz, ambience and electronica within their richly melodic compositions. They fit somewhere between artists such as Kraftwerk, Biosphere and Boards of Canada - whilst at the same time having their own distinct sound.

Happy to announce 𝔸𝕞𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝕃𝕒𝕪𝕖𝕣𝕤 𝕍𝕠𝕝. 𝕀𝕀 – part of our ‘Layers’ series – is out on May 26th! 🌷

Out today is the first single ‘Two Chambers’, a slow layering of suspended haze and harmonic gradients by Scott Morgan, who for over 20 years has built a robust catalogue of work under the Loscil moniker, loosely spanning the genres of ambient, classical and electroacoustic music.

This compilation offers a snapshot of the multifaceted genre of ambient music by showcasing 21 compositions exploring its boundless nature.

Established figures inside the ambient scene such as UK’s Marconi Union and Canada’s Loscil pair up with wonderful emerging artists resulting in a compilation spanning across 12 different countries – from the India-based Bios Contrast, to Finland’s Marko Nyberg, as well as Nairobi-born KMRU and Italy’s Paolo Angeli, to name a few.

We're immensely excited to finally share Niklas Paschburg's third album 𝙋𝘼𝙉𝙏𝘼 𝙍𝙃𝙀𝙄 - out in full today 🌷

'Panta Rhei' is the sound of Niklas removing any conceptual boundaries and following his instincts, a flow of thoughts and emotions that have alternated in Niklas' mind and heart in the last two years.

"These new songs describe places I’ve visited within myself, things that I carry with me or I observe in others. The goal was to explore many different musical places and atmospheres all held together by one river that contains everything, but mindful of the fact that, as Heraclitus's 'Panta rhei' theory states, we can not step into the same river twice. "
