Der Vergabeausschuss der MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung
hat in seiner ersten Sitzung 2024 Fördermittel in Höhe von knapp 4 Millionen Euro für insgesamt 32 Projekte vergeben. Davon bekommen folgende Animationsfilm-Projekte Produktionsförderung:
- „Adam“ (Regie: Ron Segal/David Nasser, Produktion: MovieBrats Pictures Erfurt) 400.000 Euro
- „Das Neinhorn“ (Regie: Marc-Uwe Kling/Johannes Weiland/Michael Sieber, Produktion: X-Filme Creative Pool GmbH) 250.000 Euro
- „Die friedliche Revolution - Eine animierte Zeitreise (Animadok-Serie, Regie: Ralf Kukula/Andrea Gentsch, Produktion: Balance Film GmbH Dresden) 400.000 Euro

Auch Alina Cyranek neues Dokfilmprojekt „Fassaden“ (Produktion: hug films Halle (Saale)) und das AR-Game „Die Sherlock-Holmes-Academy: Mord auf Schloss Burgk" (Produktion: Nivre Film & Studio GmbH Weimar) erhalten Fördergelder.

Fantastic News 🙌🎉 Thank you to the MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung for supporting the production of our animated feature ADAM, directed by Ron Segal and David Nasser from a screenplay by Segal. In ADAM, renowned Israeli writer and Holocaust survivor Adam Schumacher sets out on a journey through his dissolving memory, in order to put the story of his late wife Bella in writing before it is forever lost to his dementia.

Excited and grateful to be able to take the project to the next stage 🎬

Our hearts broke this morning when we learned of the sudden passing of Rob Gibbs, co-director on our animated film HUMP. We've not only lost a creative partner, but also a wonderful human being, always in a good mood and never short of a joke that made it a joy to work with him over the past few years. Before we met Rob, he already looked back at an impressive career at Disney and Pixar, a veteran story artist on classics like Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, or Inside Out, he directed many of the Pixar shorts in the Cars franchise and kept entertaining us with his anecdotal stories from his many years in the industry. He loved spending time with his daughter, and he loved old classic cars and zombie stories.

You'll be dearly missed, Rob ♥️

Ramy Youssef's show "Ramy" is currently out on Hulu and just got renewed for season 2, seeing him return next to two time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali.

50 years ago today landed on the Moon 🌎🚀🌝👨‍🚀👨‍🚀💫 To celebrate this historic day here's our award-winning short film ASTERNAUTS which tells the story of a pair of very different space explorers who only made steps that didn't leap mankind anywhere. Or did they?

With the Berlinale circus having left town again, CARTOON Movie, the premier European feature animation market in Bordeaux, is next. Happy to share that our new project ADAM by writer-director Ron Segal, a co-production with France's LesFilms Dici, has been selected for the pitching event.
