Bhabha and his theory of “The Third Room”, a place where different cultures existing and correlating to each other, mix and transform into hybrids, we want to take this approach and apply it to contemporary club music. We create a space of cultural exchange, combine musical styles and go beyond limits. This new place is our hideaway where the spirit and its creativity have no limits.

Dear T3R community,

We are still buzzing from the overwhelming feedback of STF24, yet we’re having a hard time enjoying the success because we have bad news for you regarding The Third Room Festival 2024 in August.
We are very sorry to announce that we must cancel T3R Festival due to various factors. All tickets will be refunded within 14 working days. For direct inquiries, please write to [email protected].

Ticket Sales
Despite the affordable prices, a significant factor is the low ticket sales, which makes the whole production financially unfeasible. We are an independent company and don’t have silent investors or big sponsors.

Our Standards
We like it intense and intimate, but the predicted low guest numbers make it difficult to ensure this „magical“ energy on the dance floor. This differs from what we stand for; we want to deliver a unique experience for you. Under these circumstances, this is not possible.

Prospect
We were aware that Hattingen is not Essen and Henrichshütte is not Zollverein, but we still believed in the potential of this exceptional venue and had a vision. On the other hand, we can’t deny the regional handicaps and the administrative problems of the City of Hattingen. These obstacles are difficult to overcome to build a long-term successful festival concept in a infrastructural weak region.

A big thank you goes to the people of the LWL-Museum Henrichshütte, who supported this concept from the very beginning and encountered us with an open mind.

Last Words
This conclusion took time to make. After sleepless nights, we had to listen to our gut feelings and make this tough decision. Taking a step back is the best way to look forward and come back with exciting new ideas for the future. We are very sorry to let you down.

Absolutely thrilled and grateful for this year’s incredible Stone Techno Festival! This weekend was beautiful and overwhelming in so many ways!
A massive thank you to all visitors who brought the energy and passion for music. Your enthusiasm made the vibe and atmosphere truly phenomenal! Huge shoutout to all the artists for their unforgettable sets. Your music transported us to another world and we couldn’t be prouder! And of course, to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes – thank you for making this event a reality.

The wait is over and we are super excited to reunite with you at STF24. There are a few last-day tickets available for Friday and Sunday on our website. For other ticket categories, please check our resale shop. It looks like we will be seeing some rain just on Saturday with temperatures ranging from 18 to 24° Celsius. You can find drinkable tap water inside the toilet trailers. We had planned more lockers than recommended from the lockers provider but they are now all sold out. But you can re enter the festival venue if you want to store your belongings in your car. This year the main entrance is Salzlager! Please read our key facts carefully or visit our website for further information. We can’t wait to see you all on the dance floor for a great weekend.

We’ve got a little weather update for you: it looks like we might be seeing some rain during STF24. The temperature will range between 15°C and 22°C, so be prepared for a mix of cool and warm moments.
Our festival is an open-air event, staying true to our concept of minimal interference with the venue’s natural beauty - so three of four stages are not covered! However, we do have three stages with solid flooring. Please remember to bring sturdy footwear and rain clothes with you. To keep your belongings safe, we also have waterproof lockers available on-site. We check the weather forecast every few hours and will keep you updated to make the most of this weekend!

News Alert: We’re hosting a special raffle where you can win awesome T3R merch, including pieces from this year’s Vertere Berlin collaboration! Simply exchange your black deposit coin for a limited raffle ticket at the merch shop inside the Mischanlage. You will receive the black coin only if you lose your bottle or your green coin, or if you order multiple drinks and pay a deposit at the bar. We are working with a deposit system to keep our events as garbage-free as possible. At the entrance, you’ll received a complimentary green coin which exempts you from any additional deposit charges for your drinks. If you lose your bottle or green coin or if you purchase multiple drinks, you’ll receive a black coin for each drink. The deposit will not be refunded but we have a special raffle for you at the merch shop in the Mischanlage.

Setaoc Mass is without a doubt a main contributor to define modern techno. With his own sound being a quality blend of deep and intrusive, humming elements and his label SK Eleven being one of the best out there, the Berlin-based artist continuously enlarges his footprint. After his set at Stone Techno Festival 2022, we are very happy to welcome him back behind the decks for us this summer at T3R24.

In order to honor the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein, the landmark of the Ruhr Area, we urge you to respect this place. Please don't leave any garbage behind and of course don't purposely damage the property (especially tagging). We strongly ask you to keep unnecessary noise to a minimum when leaving the festival site. Let's take care of each other and this magnificent location. We can't wait to have a great time with our T3R people.

The Berlin-based The Lady Machine has already wowed the crowd at our STF22 with her distinctive musical approach of intrusive, dark synth lines and textures, leaded by infectious grooves. The Berlin based Pornceptual resident gains a fair bit of inspiration from her label work and years of digging vinyl records, hence it is impossible to compete with her top notch selection.

With tracks that are as thrilling as their names, he creates music that lets elements clash – unearthed, thoughtful and touchingly apocalyptical.
