The internship comprises graphic design, book design, publishing, organisation of exhibitions, research, writing of short texts, social media, and everything else that arises in the framework of our publishing activities at The Green Box and the forthcoming design exhibitions at A–Z.
The internship is suitable for students and graduates of visual communication and also artistic/curatorial studies. We are looking for someone who is open-minded and curious about the varied tasks, who feels motivated to contribute ideas and loves to get involved.

A DIY proposal for Creating a Self-Sufficient Graphic Design Studio

Can graphic designers be self-sufficient?
Can graphic designers recycle their own work?
When a designer is able to make his own letters, he also should be able to design and produce his own paper and ink. In order to understand and experiment with the concept of letters, color and paper, it is necessary to learn about these things. A designer should have a complete understanding of these elements because they are the cornerstones of a good design. The self-initiated DIY project described in this book is intended as a blueprint for all designers and design studios that wish to be self-sufficient or wish to recycle their own designs. By proposing a new standard for polychromatic typography using plant-based ink and recycled paper, this publication aims to inspire the pursuit of unconventional approaches in graphic design. This publication is designed and produced within close proximity to Novo Typo’s Amsterdam studio. The cover is letterpress printed with plantbased ink on Amsterdam Pulp Paper.

For the fifth and final part of the exhibition series SONDERLAGE, a selection of works by the artists SOPHIA POMPÉRY, HALEH REDJAIAN and MARIANNE THOERMER is presented. The independent publishing project THE GREEN BOX by Anja Lutz is invited to displays several of its artbooks and publications, with a special focus on the series "Unfold" made in collaboration with the artists JORN EBNER, RYAN GANDER and MAARTEN JANSSEN.
The exhibition series SONDERLAGE wishes to reply to the changing conditions for art production and presentation, and the urgency to suggest other forms of mediation, distribution and exhibition making. Therefore and in addition to the physical exhibition space, a digital presentation with 3D viewing rooms and online exclusive shows are proposed.
Special emphasis is given to the interaction with limited editions and artists' books in the form of a temporary store dedicated to one artist publishing house. Furthermore LAGE EGAL produced for each exhibition limited editions in close collaboration with the participating artists.
The exhibition series SONDERLAGE is supported by Stiftung Kunstfonds and NEUSTART KULTUR.

Conversations Across Place (CAP) provides a publishing platform for international artists
and writers engaging with landscape in the broader sense of geography, ecology, space,
place, built and ‘natural’ environments. Contemporary discourse focused on decolonial,
feminist and queer methodologies is underscored through a variety of subjects and
themes in order to reveal historical and present-day entanglements. The format of
‘conversation’ – of translation and dialogue – frames this project, which originated in a
process-based workshop. Artists, writers and architects gathered to converse across the
borders that divide places and disciplines, enacting the tangling that already exists in our
plural ecosystems.

Mit großer Freude präsentieren wir unsere neueste Publikation ARCHITEKTURFÜHRER – BAUHAUS-WELTERBE BERNAU. Den Bau planten Hannes Meyer und Hans Wittwer mit ihren Studierenden aus den Bauhaus-Werkstätten. Kein anderes Bauprojekt dokumentiert das wissenschaftliche Entwerfen mit sozialpädagogischem Ansatz am Bauhaus unter Hannes Meyer so anschaulich wie die Bundesschule. Gleichzeitig erfüllte sich hier die angestrebte Einheit von Lehre und Praxis am Bau. In Bernau wurde das Bauhaus zum Versuchslabor im Großen. Es sind diese Qualitäten, die die UNESCO-Kommission im Jahr 2017 davon überzeugten, das Bauensemble zur Welterbestätte zu erklären. Das nun erschienene Buch bietet Einblicke in die bewegte Bau- und Nutzungsgeschichte der ehemaligen Bundesschule und begleitet Besucher auf ihrer Tour über den Bauhaus Campus Bernau.
We are proud to present our new publication ARCHITEKTURFÜHRER. BAUHAUS-WELTERBE BERNAU. The building was planned by Hannes Meyer and Hans Wittwer with their students from the Bauhaus. No other building project documents the scientific design with a social pedagogical approach at the Bauhaus under Hannes Meyer as vividly as the Federal School. At the same time, the intended unity of teaching and practice in the building was achieved. In Bernau, the Bauhaus became a large-scale experimental laboratory. It was these qualities that convinced the UNESCO Commission to declare the building ensemble a World Heritage Site in 2017. This new publication offers insights into the eventful history of the former Federal School, its buildings and usage, and accompanies visitors on their tour of the Bauhaus Campus Bernau.
