Tour and EP announcement!
EUROPEAN ENDARKENMENT TOUR will kick off 13th of September where we will embark on yet another EU tour.
This time we have teamed up with three bands who will join us for some of the dates:
Solipsism from Slovakia
Abglanz from Germany
and Kold from Denmark

At the same time there will be a new Udånde EP released in September, which will be EP one out of three all connected and in the same theme. More info to follow!

When it comes to creating art for bands I have to like their music. Without it, there's no room for honest creativity. Bands displaying my art naturally means displaying my taste as well. Therefore I would like to highlight a few bands/releases from a few more unknown bands that I really like and think deserve more attention.

In 2021 I created this new logo for German Black Metal band NIMBIFER which at that point had two demos and a split record released. It's one of these bands with a perfect raw organic sound to channel the essence of great Black Metal. This year they released their debut "Der b​ö​se Geist" via Vendetta Records. Highly recommend checking them out.

Widertod "Anemoia"
reviewed by NO CLEAN SINGING

"another debut album, this time from Germany’s Widertod. If melodic black metal that carries significant density amongst chilling somberness is what one seeks, then don’t sit on the spirited outburst that is Anemoia.

Evident from the first note of “Apollo” is the fact that Widertod hold nothing back, emotions laid bare. Chilling, robust screams fill the air amongst a thick rhythm section and melancholic guitars that reminds one of Auðn or Afsky. There’s a sizable bite to the band’s compositions that give that edge this writer adores in the best examples of black metal, but it’s way more than quick tremolos and high-pitched screams.

“Endzeit” contains weeping violin pieces that mesh blissfully within the composition, achieving a level of despair that many bands can’t quite grasp. Comparatively, the piano work in “Chat Noir” provides a similar effect from a different purview. “Sakrament” adds a higher degree of sandpaper while carefully balancing with stirring interludes. “Rote Erde” takes a darker turn via moody leads and a measured pacing, with the title track closer containing a tension-filled build that firmly grips the listener tightly.

In a year that has thus far boasted an impressive amount of newcomers with veteran prowess, Widertod stand firmly towards the top of that impressive class. The songwriting chops are potent, the instrumentation splendid, and the crucial aura required for this subgenre of black metal is amongst the established elite. Anemoia is indeed that enveloping and impactful."

6 Months of "To Bare the Weight of Death"
This album was an ambitious and all-consuming leap forward for both myself as a musician and individual, as well as for the band. To see these efforts resonating so strongly with you all, both at shows and online, has been indescribably triumphant.

Every part of this release was undertaken with the most devout sincerity and commitment to authentic expression, and the number of genuine connections we have made since its release has been life affirming, and achieved the ultimate goal of this album - to inspire others to confront, ruminate upon and ultimately accept both their own mortality and that of those they love. None of us ever escape grief or death. Make your peace with it and allow it to imbue your Will to Power with an unapologetic ferocity.

It would be amiss of me to make this post without thanking both Vendetta Records and Reaper Agency UK for their support in both releasing this album and bringing it to the stage, further and further afield than ever before. To work alongside passionate individuals with a respect and care for the artform is non-negotiable for us, and with these partners, we undoubtedly have achieved this.

Lastly, my gratitude to all those that spread the word, picked up a copy, took a listen, read the lyrics, caught us after a show to share their connections with the album. It has been more than I could have hoped for.

"These two songs, “Blood Oath” and “Asura“, provide an interesting amalgam of mind-altering eeriness and earthiness. In the first song, the dense buzz of hornet-swarm riffing is itself strange, but the shrill wailing and quivering guitar-leads are stranger still, and the ragged roars and howls sound like pure torment and strangling wretchedness. The rhythm section provides the visceral, blood-pumping grounding, while everything else doses the mind with frightening psychoactive substances that chill the blood.

A damned scary song that one. “Asura” is more mesmerizing and sinister, slower-paced and leagues more ominous, and the drifting wail of the guitar in that one sounds exotic and seductive, You might almost let your guard down. But there’s pounding and jolting to come, and head-spinning frenzies, where the gleaming guitars sound like the glorious revels of djinns. The vocals, however, still sound like the tortures of a great beast.

An absolutely fascinating, indeed transfixing, pair of songs." no clean singing

Half the year is gone, so it's time to say thank you once again.
Thank you for the great support vendetta got in the first 6 months of '24!
Thank you for the support the bands I released got from you people out there!

It feels good to see that, besides there are so many fine labels out there releasing even more fine bands, people do care about what I do, what the bands I release are creating.
It's great to see people give small and unknown artists a chance to spread their art and message, to see that people support underground acts.
I'm especially thankful that the bands that I released a debut for got supported.

I feel greatful for all the feedback we got, the bands and I. So thank you to everyone taking note of what's happening with vendetta.

I'll release some more unknown bands soon, and also some you might already know.
So thank you to all the bands as well, for trusting me, for showing some friendship, but mostly for creating such huge art! I feel honored to be able to work with you!

Off to new shores.
