This week’s episode features the merged masterminds of Johannes Schuster and Strorkr - Plaintiffs.
The Cologne-based, newly formed duo just stimulated the scene’s G-**ot with their 2020 trancy rave-anthem DOA, being released just yesterday on the ,,Essential Memories EP Part II’’ of Remco Beekwilder’s Emerald. While digging deep into the music they love, the creation and production of it was only the next logical step to their adventure.
Both are are well known in Cologne’s techno nightlife, where they continuously play at clubs like Artheater.

In this episode you can expect a precise selection of powerful weapons with banging kicks, distorted basslines, 140 BPM upwards.

In the second installment of our Podcast series, we present you Turin based analog gear head & label co-founder of Genau Recordings, norberto lusso. Grown up in an urban context where Baroque architecture coexists with the concept of a modern and industrialized city, where underground clubs live in the shadow of car factories and eighteenth century buildings, he feels deep connections to Detroit’s early techno scene, that clearly inspire his music.
Norberto Lusso is known for hard hitting releases on numerous labels like Planet Rhythm, Konstruktiv, Soptik or Labyrinth and his unique sound can be described as industrial influenced war zone anthems with a perfect dose of emotion.
Some of you might as well know his side projects Exilles and Noisy K***s, where he performs with a friend of his as an analoge live act, taking their sound to clubs like Tresor, Factory Milano and the residency they hold at Genau in Turin.
In this episode you can expect a perfect mixture of banging, dance floor-orientated tunes, which might turn your neighbor into a potential serial killer. So listen carefully!

As announced before, here we go with the first episode of WAHN Podcast. We’re kicking off the series with cologne’s techno-heavyweight Rezystor (SEELEN/ RAW). Finding his roots in Heavy Metal-Moshpits and less travelled roads within the scene, he created a unique brand of no-nonsense, bottom-heavy, thick, rolling Techno. Also he is known for his early 2000s Techno and EBM-influenced releases on renowed labels like RAW, TWB, WarinD Records or Märked.
Expect one hour full of fast paced, energetic rhythms that will turn your quarantine into a one-man-rave.

Track 3: Ekstase

Closing the first act is the appropriately named Ekstase. Exemplifying the conceptualisation of the previously established motives, the track intends to delicately balance the apparent desire for affection and crudity, pleasure and pain. Slowly developing strings and obscured piano keys blend in with fast, rhythmical toms and a commanding low-end to leave the listener with a feeling of restless fatigue and a touch of melancholy.

With the album Mit Liebe und Gewalt and consequently the formation of WAHN as an outlet for creative expression outside of restrictive norms and etiquette, KE:NT rejects the attempt to add a sense of meaning to our flawed existence and instead embraces the delirium that is our struggle to be compatible and conscious.

Track 2: Groll

Groll advances the disquieting aura and sinister path of his predecessor through its boisterous and top-heavy soundscapes and an unforgiving, cutthroat rumble. Arguably the record´s centrepiece, the continuous synth triplets and hedonistic, self-destructive vocals in combination with heavy, distorted drum patterns amount to a raw and enraging tool for the heavy-hearted, later hours of the night.

Track 1: Tumult

From the beginning the opening track Tumult conveys a subtle urgency and disunity in the artist´s desire to agitate the listener both emotionally and physically by consolidating rumbling kick drums, subtle vocal snippets and ever-evolving tapestries of sound. Prompting comparisons to the likes of Burial or early Kode9 by not following conventional rhythmic patterns, the piece stands out as both the fastest and the most delicate arrangement on the LP.

KE:NT | Mit Liebe und Gewalt | Akt I
Techno powerhouse KE:NT is ready to unveil the first chapter of his upcoming album!
Divided into three distinctive acts, the debut LP Mit Liebe und Gewalt will be published gradually on the newly formed techno imprint WAHN, founded by KE:NT himself in collaboration with the auspicious west-German duo Earthscape.
The first installment features three idiosyncratic tracks ranging from disordered and unrelenting to outright unsettling and claustrophobic - but always with an unmistaken drive and purpose for the conversant dancefloor.
The record´s atmosphere and pace is deeply rooted in the concept and the perception of both love and violence in their interpenetrative nature. Intimacy and aversion, lust and hostility are identified not as contrasting antagonisms, but rather as coexisting and overlapping entities on a spectrum of raw emotion and calculated delusion.
In the following three days we will present you previews of every single track which is included.
WAHN001 will be available on the 28th of February on bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and many more.
