Flower Power!! As every Wednesday at 7 pm we are having our editorial meeting today in the garden of the Ost-Passage Theater, disussing our current articles/projects, upcoming topics and social issues in leipzig, developing our magazine and planning workshops....

Como parte del programa oficial del “festival contre le racisme” tocó D-Schiripa el 25.06 en Connewitz. Se estaba haciendo ya casi la hora del inicio del concierto y yo todavía no encontraba el lugar del concierto, pero a medida iba recorriendo las calles de Connewitz iba escuchando acercarse poco a poco el sonido de las conversaciones de la gente. Finalmente llegué al Café Rojito en la Bornaische Str. 50, donde la banda se estaba ya preparando para tocar su primera canción.

As part of the official program of the “festival contre le racisme” D-Schiripa played on 25.06 in Connewitz. It was almost time for the concert and I still couldn’t find the venue, but as I walked through the streets of Connewitz I heard the sound of people’s conversations getting closer and closer. Finally, I arrived at Café Rojito on Bornaische Str. 50, where the band was already preparing to play their first song. Chipote Chingón is a band that for some years now has been making a lot of noise in the latinx scene in Leipzig.

On this occasion, our music editor Emyd Espinoza had the opportunity to interview one of their members, Ricardo Martinez, before their performance on 21.06 at Casa Pepe for the “fete de la musique”.

Stonewall was a riot!

In its memory, Queering Defaults is holding a series of events and workshops with focus on intersectionality and empowerment, leading up to the q***r liberation pride this Sunday. Aside from speeches there will be performances from many wonderful q***r artists. Don’t miss it!

True Colours festival take place for the first time this year, introducing an impressive and diverse program. Let’s give them a warm welcome! The festival kicks off on the 26th with lectures and discussions on q***r history, racism and discrimination, followed by a screening of the film “The Death and Life of Marsha P. Jonson”. Can’t make it? The program goes on until 25.07 and includes open talks on safe q***r s*x and the Kiki ball event celebrating the tradition of US-american ballroom.

All the mentioned events will be published in the event calendar on our website, which launches today! The calendar will include info about language and accessibility of the events listed.

Don’t forget to check out the hygiene concept before coming to an event, and support your local q***rs however you can!

RoomBoom Streetart-Festival No.2 in Schkeuditz

A Festival for Streetart is currently happening on a big, empty industrial area in the middle of Schkeuditz. (It's a town outside of Leipzig, near the Airport) It's called RoomBoom and happens on the former ZAW-Area, the Tram Depot and at the town hall square.

More than 60 Artworks are shown on fassades, Squares and set in scene in this indutrial atmosphere.

The Festival is limited because of corona. And it is partly digital here: https://www.roomboom.art/aktuell with Livestreams, Photos, Videos und and mor information about the program.
