Dear Musiclovers,

welcome to the latest addition to my mixing portfolio.

This time it is all about Indie Punk Rock from the Band Mistrusted with the song "Trapped".

As always I reached out to the band to ask for permission to mix the song and use it on my Youtube channel. But they didn´t just want to say yes.

So we made a deal - I mix the song and send it over to the band to have a listen first and decide what shall happen.

Dear Musiclovers,

this is the song "Outer_" from Woodfire. This song reminded me a lot of The Black Keys and that is why I wanted to have it in my portfolio. I really like this song a lot and the singer sounds a bit like Mick Jagger. This song is a very good example that a great song doesn´t necessarily have to be very complex. I hope you like it as much as I do ;)

This song was a lot of fun to mix. Besides the fact that this song is a masterpiece in terms of lyrics and arrangement - it is translating the emotions in such a wonderful way that it literally made me cry during the mixing process and became one of my favorite tracks instantly.

This song was part of the mixing course "ReThink Mixing" by RecordingRevolution.com who kindly allowed me to use this song for my portfolio!

This course (which is not available anymore) was my entry into the mixing world many years ago and it was a lot of fun! It was a stunning experience to have mixed my first song! I still remember the feeling, time and place.

This is my second attempt after at least 5 years since I did the course.

I replaced Kick and Snare with EzDrummer Samples and the strings (sampled Stradivari from NativeInstruments) since the original recording was way out of tune. Especially the string replacement was a lot of manual work to get it groovin´with the rest of the song.
