Depth and colour. Multiple tones and shades of similar colours make the BW version interesting to look at with the saturation removed.
I like both. Depending on what the purpose of the image is.

Blood moon away from the world. One of my most memorable moments of 2022. Soon after this the sun came up and it felt like this magical existence we experienced was just a figment of our imaginations.
Majestic Animal. One of my favourites from my time in East Africa many years ago.
Danny from about to catch a wave. Taken while we spent some time together in Plettenberg Bay earlier this year while I was doing some work in the Grunter Documentary.
Thinking of South Africa a lot today but excited about our travels to South America on the horizon and making new memories. Seeing and feeling new things as a family.
For friends interested I will be picking up the page again to document the trip but doing it properly this time with the skill set evolved over the last few years.

City Life. What a beautiful city indeed. Working on a project with .am.dom in beautiful Bamberg 🇩🇪❤️
Good memory from the time with and his waste to resource organisation earlier this year.
Not only was the energy of everyone so amazing but the work they are doing is so rad that it was an honour being able to capture a little bit of their journey via film.
One part of what they do is offering a composting and bio waste collection service in Natures Valley and we made a small film explaining the service.

Spotted Grunter Documentary Update: Kyle Smith joins the project! Marine Ecologist, Sanparks Garden Route.
So happy to be able to share this finally.
After a successful meeting a while back to garner Sanparks’ support for the film with the Garden Route team including Kyle, I knew immediately that I wanted him to be in the film. He and I continued chatting outside next to our cars and his passion for the protection of the marine systems was unbelievable.
Fortuitously, that following Monday, he was beginning a 5 day survey on one of the garden route estuary systems with the help of ichthyology honours students. I changed my schedule a bit to squeeze one day with them and what a great day it was witnessing a small part of how they go about surveying the life of the estuaries. A part of my job I love.
His expertise are a tremendous asset to the film and looking forward to spending more time with him later in the year.
My funding drive will begin soon as I now have a more complete idea of budgets. If you know any brands they may want to support: get in touch please!

The beautiful thing about filming and capturing photographs outdoors is that you get to experience moments never to be seen again. Similar moments maybe,but never exactly the same.
This photo was taken while exploring Paarl creating the stage introduction video for the Cape Epic mountain bike race. Such an amazing project where we got to explore and capture a few beautiful places in the Western Cape.
So grateful everyday I take my camera out and experience something new.
This cloud came over Paarl Rock at the perfect time as the sun was just about gone creating and almost surreal volcanic eruption like image.
