Inspired by Matt Rollings' arrangement of "Someone to Watch Over Me," as interpreted by Willie Nelson, the ballad "So Close" serves as a showcase for trumpeter Gabriel Rosenbach on the album. Speaking of the tracks title "So Close", Tobias explained, "This title sometimes sounds kind of cheesy, and indeed, I would not mind anybody thinking about being close to some other person in a romantic situation while listening to this piece of music." That said, the origin of track dates back to the Corona Pandimic, Tobias explained "In fact, I wrote this in the very middle of the Corona pandemic. Back then, there was a feeling of being close to the end of the pandemic with all the misery that it brought to many musicians.
