On our last post we promised a formal introduction. Today we introduce Daniel Deboy, one of the co-founders of DELTA Soundworks.
Daniel is passionate about projects that create awareness and have a positive impact on society. At DELTA Soundworks, he plays a crucial role in keeping everything running smoothly, ensuring that workflows are efficient and projects stay on track. With his engineering expertise, he oversees the technical planning of our projects and provides expert consultation on sound engineering. His unique balance of creativity and technical knowledge challenges us to find the best solutions, and his keen ears for both detail and the bigger picture makes him an invaluable part of our team.
Daniel’s passion for audio started at the age of 13 when he used a Soundblaster card as a sampler to create his first electronic tunes. As Daniel learned the trumpet and discovered his love for jazz and blues, his passion for sound grew, driving his ambition to record warm and clean sound, while deepening his appreciation for acoustics.
After two years of studying physics in his hometown Heidelberg, Daniel shifted his focus to audio engineering, specializing in acoustics and signal processing at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, Austria, with a diploma in sound-field capture and higher-order ambisonics. He later was invited to work as a researcher at CERN in Geneva, developing an acoustic monitoring system for the Large Hadron Collider, where witnessing the discovery of the Higgs boson reinforced his belief in the power of pursuing ideas. This experience, combined with his entrepreneurial drive, led him to freelance as a recording and mixing engineer, until he met Ana, who became the perfect sparring partner for bringing DELTA Soundworks to life.
When he’s not working on sound, you can find Daniel dancing to swing music from the roaring 20s. It’s a fun and carefree hobby that always puts a smile on his face!
