Uprising Records turns four years today

Four years today this day, we founded Uprising Records with the main purpose of discovering new talent and raising it up to the next level. From then on to this day, we proudly released albums from bands such as Lotan, STEW, The Dark Overlords, Thalarion, Diabolisches Werk, Needless, Tersivel, As I May, Oddland, Spheric Universe Experience, Allamedah, Battering Ram, Tomb Of Finland, Silver Phantom, Empire Drowns, Avarice, Advocacy Denmark and Vicinity. Enough talent for a lifetime, let alone four years!
..And soon the family will expand too!

The sublime Finnish progressive metal act Oddland has been confirmed as a direct support act for the Swedish prog-leaders Soen - a tour that will be running through large parts of Europe for a full month in the fall of 2024.

After a European tour in May 2022, ODDLAND has been playing festival shows and writing songs for the follow-up to "Vermilion" - their last album released bu Uprising Records, which was praised to the sky by media and fans alike, and to prepare for the release of the next album, the band is thrilled to get the opportunity to perform the "Vermilion" songs and some older tunes as well, once more.

Battering Ram - new digital single "The World Belongs To Me" out now

BATTERING RAM has been slowly brewing new music in the shadows and amidst their constant live performances. And now it’s time to finally unleash the Swedes’ new single. “The World Belongs To Me” is, as usual, a classic straightforward Battering Ram tune: hard pumpin’ metal, made from the ground, built to last.

The base was built by the guitar player Jonas Edmark and built up in the rehearsal room, with the finishing touch done in the studio. As always. The Battering Ram way, so to speak.

Vicinity - new digital single "Distance" out next week

After announcing their new album “VIII”, Norwegian progsters VICINITY will now release a new digital single - the second - from the upcoming record on Friday next week. There will be a video for it too.

“Distance” is the chosen song this time. A direct, riff-based track, with a verse almost leaning into synthwave. The lyrical theme dwells on some of the darker tendencies of the human psyche. The song leans both into traditional prog metal bands like Threshold, as well as newer acts like Haken.

Norway’s VICINITY kicks off their upcoming album promotion round with the release of the first digital single and lyric from the record.

A progressive metal tune that showcases the technical sides of Vicinity, while maintaining their affinity for strong melodies and relatable lyrical themes. This is also the first song to be released with new vocalist Erling Malm. Fans of bands like Threshold, Circus Maximus and Dream Theater should really check this one out.

The wait is over! Advocacy Denmark "The Path Of Decoherence" is out today

“The Path of Decoherence”, mixed and mastered by Frederik Uglebjerg (Svartsot, Trold) sees Advocacy's prog-metal approach, already praised by the fans of the genre for their previous two EPs, becoming more complex and, at the same time, heavier and more melodic, as the band is highly motivated on bringing their musical world to an international audience.

With artwork by Disturbing Grace Design and cover art done by the band’s guitar player Søren Wind, “The Path of Decoherence” is a classical hit-the-ground-running debut album from a non-typical mature band for their first full-length.

Vicinity - new album out on March 8th

Out of Trondheim, on the cold shores of Norway, VICINITY has been crafting their mix of progressive metal, melodies and sophisticated rhythm patterns since 2006. Now reaching their third studio album, the five-piece has reached the perfect mix in their sound. “VIII” is a mature progressive metal album, with a fresh approach to composition.

Putting new influences to work in their already highly rich melting pot of references, “VIII” is a collection of progressive metal songs where the Norwegians drifted to a heavier, more concise sound than in the previous releases. The final result can please traditional prog fans of bands such as Threshold, as well as followers of newer acts such as Haken.

Mixing duties in “VIII” were handled by Øyvind Voldmo Larsen (Seventh Wonder, Circus Maximus, Withem) and mastering was done at Fascination Street Studios by Tony Lindgren (Ihsahn, James LaBrie, Leprous, Opeth).

Advocacy Denmark - new digital single and video "Star Formation" out today!

With a setting inspired by post-apocalyptic stories; to be more specific, the time right before the Apocalypse, “Star Formation” is the new digital single from the Danish progressive metal combo ADVOCACY.

Although not specifically written from a Biblical point of view or as a comment on the current climate crisis, the song still describes an unavoidable confrontation with the life choices and bad judgment calls that might have led to this situation. However, it is also a song about finding a glimpse of light in the darkest night, even though things might never be quite the same again.

Advocacy Denmark - debut album out in January!

The world is at risk of ever-increasing turmoil these days and how 2024 will address this is still uncertain. Fortunately, not all will be tears & sorrows when the songs tell the tale of this year, as at least one line in the music chapter can mention the release of the long-awaited debut album by the Danish prog metal unit ADVOCACY.

“The Path of Decoherence”, mixed and mastered by Frederik Uglebjerg (Svartsot, Trold) sees the band’s compositions, already praised by the fans of the genre for their previous two EPs, becoming more complex and, at the same time, heavier and more melodic, as the band is highly motivated on bringing their musical world to an international audience. Even though basically every press release for every record out there tells the same tale, please take a listen to “The Path of Decoherence”, put it together against Advocacy’s previous material, and dare to challenge us.
