Thanks to for taking these dope shots! I took part in a team race in Nürnberg, which was one of the most exhausting but also fun things to do, after 4 months of no karting. My team mate qualified us to P4 of 10 teams for this 60 min race, which was very good, considering Teams P1-P3 were already somewhat experienced on this track. We had a difficult start, almost won a position then lost 2, before retaking one more position. I had the second stint, we were in P4 and I had clear air to push. 25 Minutes, just qualifying laps on a 26 second lap with almost no straights but a lot of grip in these tight corners. You really had to play with throttle and a blip on the brake as well as crank on the steering wheel to achieve the best lap time.
So I stringed together 60 or so qualifying laps without a breath, well that’s what it felt like and I had a little bit of trouble climbing out of my kart and standing upright. :D I left nothing on the table, made some nice overtakes/lapping and was very happy with my fastest laps, when I broke into the 25s only a couple tents behind P1 and P2. My team mate took over and we were only 2 seconds behind P3 and closing in. 20 Minutes to go! When…Oh when the race came to a halt due to a system crash. For some reason my team mate got pulled into the pit-lane, but only him… Suddenly they restarted the race, and we lost at least half a lap of time…which meant, that P3 was suddenly out of the question.. Sucks and a real shame. But P4 still and really happy with my pace. Also, got my first little medal from karting, how cute is that? :D Thanks again to Kristof for taking these awesome pictures!
