Watched two women discussing on Metro TV's GMG. One sounded more like a veteran politician, managing to find potential ways to address issues without acknowledging current realities or offering sustainable solutions.
The other lady sounded like a social commentator affiliated with the NDC. Although she did not fit the typical image of a Ghanaian female politician, Ms. Shamima was very articulate, civil, refreshing, and convincing. Having the right women involved in policymaking in Ghana is non-negotiable.

Degraded forests are a problem, as they reduce their efficiency in keeping air and water clean, in providing wildlife with shelter and food, or in capturing carbon (friendoftheearth.org). Final Voice TV was in the forest area and, lo and behold, we found the forest was degraded. School children drop out of school only to cut down trees in the forest reserve to earn a living. Two consequences of this are low school attendance and a high youth mortality rate.
