Blending the old 50s Louisiana R'n'b with the Bluebeat of the 60s Jamaica, here they are: Poisonlvies & the Steady, all the way from north Italy. A tight band with two beautiful and talended front girls.
The Part Rec CD and vinyl EP, recorded in 2016 went very well. Now they've got a new limited/numbered 7" vinyl single produced by the fictitious Twa-Tone Rec. (see the band itself) and a new Part Rec. CD "Stay t**t".
The band started in about 2014 with the goal of putting in the same pot, some late 50s/first 60s r'n'b, and a touch of original ska/rock-steady. In 2016 came out the first
CD produced by Part Records and a 7" vinyl EP with 4 tracks.
With Antonella and Eleonoir on vocals, Wainer on doghouse bass, Polly on guitar, Memphis on tenor saxophone and Franz on drums, the band played the major italian festivals, like the Summer Jamboree and the Rock Around the Blues, among others and many Italian clubs. Other countries started calling, so Poisonivies & the Steady had the chance to play abroad: Germany, Austria, UK, France...
Their sound is improving, and it's a unique one...someone called it 'greasy-ska'.
