is a casual academic at the Department of Government and International Relations in the University of Sydney, Australia. He is currently on a leave from the North South University, Bangladesh where he holds a Senior Lecturer position at the Department of Political Science and Sociology. He recently obtained his doctorate degree from the University of Sydney. His research interests include violent

extremism, digital media and politics. His recent publications include an article titled "Anatomy of a rigged election in a hybrid regime: the lessons from Bangladesh" and “Bangladeshi Violent Extremists: What do We Know” (both co-authored with Ali Riaz) and a book chapter titled “Explaining Political Violence in Contemporary Bangladesh (2000-2017)” in the Political Violence in South Asia (2018), Routledge, UK.
