Violinist Hoshiko Yamane and a noise ambient sound artist Makoto Sakamoto their collaborative album, „Aus einer getrennten Welt,“ This innovative project combines the expressive range of the electric violin with the expansive textures of synthesizers and mixers, resulting in a captivating auditory experience.

„Aus einer getrennten Welt“ features two tracks „tiefstes Inneres“ and „herumtastend“. Each track was performed in real-time and recorded in Berlin, capturing the spontaneity and raw energy of the duo’s creative process. The album blends Hoshiko’s masterful violin performance with Makoto’s intricate ambient soundscapes, creating a unique fusion of classical and experimental music.

„Working together on this album has been an incredible journey,“ says Hoshiko Yamane. „The interplay between the violin and electronic elements opened up new dimensions of sound that we were eager to explore.“

Makoto Sakamoto adds, „Our aim was to transcend traditional musical boundaries and craft an experience that immerses the listener in a world of sound. ‚Aus einer getrennten Welt‘ is an invitation to journey through different layers of emotion and atmosphere.“

DM AWARD 1st Prize Schlosslichtfestival Karlsruhe.

Particles Ensemble activated the space in front of the castle, creating an interactive installation by inviting the public to enter the dencefllor and dance to reflect the silhouettes transformed into particles and projected onto the entire 170m facade.

The action space is emphasised by a colourful light design, the more the audience interacts with the façade the more the installation comes to life, the more the audience dances the more the castle façade is coloured.

It is the audience that sets the rhythm of the installation.

My colleague, MOLS magazine published 15minutes digest movie from Noise Music Event “GANRA Spirit” at. Ochiai Soup, Tokyo Japan.

GANRA Spirit as an after-party event for the GANRA Art Festival at WHITEHOUSE in Shinjuku, captures the essence of Tokyo's underground noise and industrial music scene. Featuring artists like KAOGANAI, BLACKPHONE666, and Yuko Araki, the event seems deeply rooted in the *Japanoise* movement, which is known for its experimental, avant-garde sound that breaks traditional musical boundaries. The event's lineup, with artists heavily involved in noise and industrial genres, promises a chaotic and intense auditory experience, fitting for an after-party to an art festival.

This combination of artists highlights a commitment to raw, unfiltered sound exploration. Each performer brings a unique twist KAOGANAI's industrial noise, BLACKPHONE666’s distorted electronics, and Yuko Araki’s fusion of drone and power electronics, all contributing to a rich experimental soundscape.

The inclusion of MAKOTO SAKAMOTO, presumably connected to the organiser, adds a personal touch, making the event not just a performance but a celebration of the underground scene. It was an exciting showcase of cutting-edge sound art.

Another segment of the live performance by Makoto Sakamoto and analogue visual artist Keiji Matsuoka at Listude in Nara, Japan has been uploaded to YouTube by MOLS magazine.

The two of them, despite it being their first performance together, enjoyed improvising as if they had known each other for years, as if they were playing with someone they had collaborated with many times before.

Noctiluca - Yakochu - is a Berlin based band. It formed in 2018, and consists of electronics musicians who perform effects with guitar, keys, and analog hardware synths. The band name, “Noctiluca,” is a marine species of dinoflagellate that can exist in several colour forms. As its definition, their music visualises layers of colours. The colours float in the space, and sometimes light the unbearable sounds up on top of the layers. Their sounds blend into one canvas like an endless abstract drawing that consistently but slowly evolve into another abstraction.

Noctiluca - Yakochu - released their first album “Prelude” in a cassette tape format by British record label, Industrial Coast in 2020. The year after, remastered digital version was released by Indian record label, Subcontinental Records. They are actively performing the first album in various venues in Berlin, such as Hosek Contemporary and West Germany. In 2023, they recorded their second album in Taborkirche, Berlin to experiment the electro acoustic field.

activates the space in front of the palace by attracting a dancing audience through soundscape and employing infrared sensors, translating audiences heat and movement into abstract visuals projected in realtime on the palace facade. The intensity of visuals corresponds to audiences activity, creating a dynamic fusion of digital and the analog spaces.

A large-scale installation project on a massive castle façade, organised by the ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe).
