Extensions and Reconstruction of the New Provostry | Studio acht

The New Provostry, the 19th-century neo-Gothic building adjacent to St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle, underwent renovation led by . The heart of the project is the reopening of the inner courtyard to the public, now designed to host social events and enhanced with an overlook and a fountain crafted from granite and bronze. Two new extensions, built on the sites of former outbuildings, serve as a café and a versatile commercial unit. The reconstruction focuses on the preservation of the historic building and its interiors. The façade was restored to its 19th-century appearance, and the interiors blend contemporary and original features. The project breathes new life into the New Provostry, making it a vibrant part of Prague Castle.

Mlékárenská Apartment | RDTH architekti

transformed a 74 m² prefabricated panel building apartment in Prague into a minimalist, functional living space for Mrs. H and her twin sons. The renovation emphasizes material and formal minimalism, maximizing open space and functionality. The apartment features a multipurpose living room that doubles as Mrs. H’s bedroom, separated by a simple curtain for privacy. Her sons have identical private rooms with flexible furniture arrangements. A linear block of white furniture integrates the kitchen, storage, and utilities, creating a neutral background for free-standing furniture and accessories. Blue accents, hidden inside cabinets, add a personal touch, while wood is used on the dining table and desks for warmth. The design celebrates the apartment’s original concrete structure, treating structural joints and remnants of old partitions as part of its character, embracing its unique nature.

Smíchov Natural Apartment | Iva Hajkova Studio

Located in a modern apartment building with a tough, almost unwelcoming industrial shell, created a pleasant, peaceful space using natural materials inspired by a cozy cottage. Responding to the building’s industrial character with lightness and subtlety, the minimalist interior is warmed by wooden floors and ceilings, textured clay plaster, and handcrafted ceramic lights, resulting in a welcoming home environment.

HAJ Cottage | ADR + Formafatal

In the Krkonoše Mountains, ADR designed a contemporary cottage characterized by a simple, archetypal form and a modest selection of materials. Designed for family leisure time, the cottage meets the needs of contemporary living, also reflected in its modern aesthetics. The larch-cladded cottage effortlessly blends into the mountain meadow. Formafatal handled the interior design, using materials in their natural state, including solid wood, black rolled steel, and cement screed, to create a modern and comfortable atmosphere.

From Locally Responsible to Globally Sustainable: A Lot With Little

Created and produced by curator and architect with films by , is a touring multi-channel film installation that showcases architects worldwide who are innovating sustainable solutions in housing, education, building transformation, and disaster relief, emphasizing social impact alongside environmental consciousness.

Now hosted by until March 3, the exhibition, as the projects it features, becomes something more in this given context. In an urban planning hub, such as CAMP, the exhibition showcases exemplary models of how both a metropolis as well as smaller municipalities can construct a more sustainable future.

It is also a driving force for such a host to further the exhibition's message with its local context, giving way to a catalogue showcasing local projects with a similar ethos, titled Little Resources, Big Changes.

Sauna World in Třeboň | Plus One Architects

The Spa Aurora in Třeboň underwent a transformation, guided by a commitment to clarity, natural elements, and a respectful nod to its historical significance. Initially invited as interior architects of the new extension, Plus One Architects advocated for a redesign, focusing on open layouts, simplified aesthetics, and alterations to the facade while honoring the existing structure. The design continues on the architectural qualities of the original 1970s spa complex, supported by material choices like crushed stone, tiles, and wood, complemented by concrete elements.

Family House Dolní Malá Úpa | mar.s architects

Nestled in the mountain village of Dolní Malá Úpa, .s_architects designed a residence that embraces the spirit of historical Krkonoše Mountain architecture and lifestyle. Positioned on a sloping meadow, the house mirrors the traditional mountain house form, clad in untreated wood that evolves its expression over time. Breaking out from the simplistic form of the house, a prominent steel terrace hovers over the terrain, supported by a pair of splayed legs – a commanding bridge amid a foggy mountain. The interior, adorned with wood and subtle hues, offers a dignified retreat from the mountain storms.

LIVESPORT – Office as Digital Playground | Studio Reaktor

has recently completed its third livesportcz Offices project, aiming to create a dynamic digital playground for employees to regularly enhance their skills and practice team tactics. The design is inspired by a gym, abstracted into architectural design elements that permeate and unify the space. The office "training" zones are defined by lines depicted on the floor, while wooden and metal boxes abstract workout equipment, separating spaces and housing different functions. The tactics, analyzed by an electronic pen in sports, are transcribed into a wavy linear lighting system. This system serves as a navigation tool and highlights significant areas in the space.

Family Silver | JanskyDundera

reconstructed a 1930s apartment, creating an unusual family home with numerous atypical features. Their primary aim was to foster an expansive spatial feel while honoring the building's original historical essence. The transformation emphasizes spaciousness by unifying communal areas while preserving smaller, purposeful spaces for the children. A large blue Narnia-inspired wardrobe, a filter between the communal and children’s space, acts as a gateway from reality into another, magical world, enriching one’s imaginative experiences.

, one of the most anticipated architectural projects to be completed in Prague in the coming decades, is taking its final form under the lead of . The project unifies a contemporary music centre with a unique „From River to Roof“ public space on the last vacant riverbank site near the historic centre. HYTTA | Serene Retreat for Creative Minds

Hytta is a modern wooden cabin that provides a serene retreat for creative minds. Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, the cabin offers a distraction-free environment that harmonizes with the natural surroundings. Situated on the edge of a pine forest, it features a spacious double-height living area, quality workspace, a bedroom with a view of the morning sun, and cozy sleeping nooks. Complementing the cabin’s architecture and philosophy is a nearby Finnish sauna with a cold immersion tub.

Hradec Kralove Apartment | svobodová blaha

The reconstruction of the rental apartment designed by svobodová blaha restructures the original layout giving way to the light. All the necessary facilities as well as the design efforts are concentrated in the central part, originally a corridor, while the other rooms remain vacant. The free-flowing space is divided visually by accents in the flooring, creating a strong artistic impression. The project takes a risk rental-wise by stepping away from the typical space arrangements, as the unconventional approach required an unconventional tenant.

Double Gable House | PRO-STORY

PRO-STORY reconstructed a semi-detached house in Pilsen, tailoring it to the needs of a young family while introducing a contemporary layer to the dwelling. The transformation is characterized by two archetypal gabled roofs, resulting in an exterior design that is both intriguing and unassuming. The interior, in turn, offers a spatially diverse and generously illuminated environment. Varied room heights establish dynamic connections between spaces, flooding every corner of the house with natural light.

A 1900s apartment in Karlovy Vary underwent a complete reconstruction designed by Plus One Architects. The design aims to revive the generosity and charm of the original residential architecture, incorporating well-preserved period elements. The entire apartment features a unified design with a minimal selection of materials, creating a serene atmosphere. The leitmotif of the interior is the exposed original paintwork on the ceiling and walls of each room which creates strong and bold images of subtle colour palettes.

Ovenecká 33 | OBJEKTOR architekti + Tereza Porybna

OBJEKTOR architekti shaped Tereza Porybna’s creative concept of an art residency that experiments with different stylistic elements and boundaries between the private and public, the owner's and the artists'. The design incorporates various oddities and materializes childhood dreams into a minimalist base, creating a living scenography of changing and permanent backdrops, a framework that will be added to, updated, and used. The apartment serves as an art residency, exhibition and event space, as well as a retreat for the owner with the unconventional task of approaching the space as an art installation with various moods.

Vršovice Twins | Studio Reaktor

Studio Reaktor divided a 40 sqm apartment into two resembling units, the Vršovice Twins. The interiors of both apartments are inspired by the texture of the original plasterwork. In the so-called “Blues”, the architects play with black accents and smoked glass, while in the “Yellows”, they combine softer and lighter shades with translucent glazing.

The Silk Pavilion | Paloma Cañizares Office

The Silk Pavilion is a Paloma Cañizares Office’s research project exploring structural possibilities of rigidified textiles. The project was showcased during Concéntrico 09 and later exhibited in Madrid. In the project, silk becomes the building material of a prefabricated modular unit that serves as both a structure and an enclosure, offering a simple and highly versatile assembly system. Inspired by the site's verdant and exotic ambiance that evokes the Logroño’s Arab heritage, the pavilion’s geometry resembles a star, golden on the outside, and black on the inside. Light and shadow play a central role. On the outside, the surrounding vegetation, the mass of the pavilion, and the serrated structure create a captivating ambiance. Inside, in the slender, elongated, and dim interior, beams of light that pe*****te through a dilated roofing with an oculus, create a new star that shifts with the sun's movement.

Landscape Festival Krnov – 2500 Crates | U/U Studio

As a part of the Landscape Festival in Krnov, which addresses the importance of functional public space and greenery in the city, U/U Studio focused on the busy, but deficient, public space of Krnov – the skatepark. The project deals with the lack of urban furniture and leisure areas. 2 500 discarded beverage crates were used as a modular building block for urban furniture such as a shaded podium, a picnic table near the grill, a pyramid with views, and a wooden mini-ramp.

JIC Headquarters | KOGAA

KOGAA retrofitted a former research laboratory of the South Moravian Innovation Center (JIC - podnikání dává smysl) into an open innovation ecosystem that supports successful entrepreneurs in the region. Fixed partitions were replaced by curvilinear forms accommodating meeting rooms and semi-private workstations. Consequently, the original rigid corridor-based layout turned into a flowing space with various organic nooks that foster social interaction. Functions are differentiated by a bold-coloured zoning system, and entrepreneurs are vertically divided according to their expertise level, encouraging the exchange of ideas and experiences.
