A really interesting project that I'm working on at the moment with Ithica for RWE. For the last 2 weeks I've been living and working onboard the REM Power, capturing this milestone in the construction of the Sofia wind farm. Filming 240km offshore has its challenges but it's been really enjoyable working with such a fantastic team on this very comfortable vessel. I'll be out on the North Sea for another week to capture the rest of this engineering feat.

've just realised the date, 20 years since I started at Cumbria Toursim as their in-house photographer which therefore marks 20 continuous years as a full time photographer/film-maker. This was one of the 1st pics I took when I started, grabbed early one morning in Waterhead on the way to a meeting. Fuji Velvia 50 - Mamiya RB67.

Over the last month I have completed my Open category A1, A2 and A3 drone licences for both the UK (CAA) and the EU (EASA).

As well having the flyer certifications I am also registered as an operator with both the UK and Czech aviation authorities, meaning I can conduct aerial filming and photography work in the UK and all EU countries as well as Norway, Iceland and Swizerland.

I have held the BOSIET/HUET qualification for over 10 years which has taken me to some some really interesting places as an offshore cameraman/DP and photographer.

Having upgraded my tickets to include MIST and Escape Chute I'm qualified to work on oil and gas platforms all over the world and have filmed many installations in the UK, Dutch and Norwegian sectors.

Working offshore isn't just about having the right qualifications, having experience of permits to work and safety procedures onboard are vital. I'm always aware of keeping myself and everyone around me safe as well as keeping any disruption to a minimum!

My equipment has been honed down to a good size, easy to transport by helicopter but still including 2 cameras, grip, lighting, sound and time-lapse kit.
