Just over a week ago, the Lobo.cx and Vetor family lost one of its dearest members: Bianca Viani, who would have turned 50 years old this week. An illustrator, painter, animator, designer, and art director, Bianca was around with us since the early years of the company, in the late 90s. Her artistic sensitivity and gentle, delicate personality captivated everyone who had the pleasure of working with her and left an unmistakable mark on every project she participated in, from the classic Mundo de Pano series, made for Comfort entirely in stop motion, to the recent award-winning campaign Better Choices Make a Better World, for LG. Bianca graduated in Fine Arts from FAAP, and after working in art direction for theatrical productions, she joined Lobo/Vetor Zero in 1998. After 9 years with the company, she decided to pursue other paths and other studios until returning in 2019 to coordinate the stop motion team, as well as producing digital paintings for 3D animations.

As Women's History Month draws to a close, Reel 360 News shines a spotlight on Lobo.cx and Surreal Hotel Arts director Lu Villaça in their esteemed 'Reel Women' segment. In the feature, Lu opens up about her early career influences, stemming from working on her uncle's film projects, moments of significant pride in her work, and the distinctive journey that led her to where she is today.
Lu discusses the dual nature of her family background, split between artistic endeavors and agricultural work, and how it influenced her perspective on life. She reflects, "This blend of experiences nurtured in me a reflective approach towards life, an embrace of slower, more introspective times, and a deep connection with the essence of things and people. Observing the simplicity of rural life in Brazil, where people exude a sense of fulfillment and completeness absent in urban settings, has profoundly shaped me. There's a certain purity in rural life that brings out the most fundamental and heartfelt aspects of human existence, and I feel this legacy deeply ingrained in my vision. Being raised closer to nature inspired me to explore narratives where the most significant values lie in the nuanced, human aspects of life. While the cities I've lived in have honed my aesthetic sensibilities and driven my quest for satisfaction, the countryside has fundamentally influenced my inner life and the themes I choose to explore.
