Shoot Cuba is primarily a film support company helping producers and directors crew and shoot their vision with the utmost professionalism and ease. It came about when Infinity Media (Capote, Just Friends, Butterfly On a wheel) wanted to set up projects in Cuba. They approached Cuban producer Luis Lago. Together they developed several projects over a two-year period. Luis has produced hundreds of
commercials and several Cuban films. He lives in Havana. William Vince of Infinity partnered with Luis for several years and in 2006, Mike Barker, the director of six Movies, ‘Best Laid Plans’ with Reece Witherspoon, and ‘A Good Woman’ with Scarlett Johansen. ‘Butterfly On a Wheel’, with Pierce Brosnan and Gerry Butler, joined the partnership. Filming in Cuba is like filming anywhere, although there are several bureaucratic requirements that many producers will not be familiar with. Shoot Cuba will take producers through these slightly unorthodox channels with ease. In order to shoot in Cuba, the production has to be affiliated to one of three government run agencies. Without this affiliation it is not possible to film here. Luis Lago has relationships with all three and unusually he can decide which one is best for each individual production. Most support companies are only affiliated to one. Cuba is a spectacular and unusual place to film. The country is diverse and rich with beauty and visual feasts.
