Pčelica Publishing House has been producing books for more than 15 years. These publications include colouring books, drawing books, picture books, activity books, fiction and non-fiction books and encyclopedias. Since its beginnings, Pčelica Publishing House has been known for its educational publications, aimed at helping children to master the school curriculum. We have gradually expanded our p

roduct range with a variety of publications for children of all ages. Our publications are designed and reviewed by a range of experts in child development and in education. Our main goals are still the same – to provide an interesting way of supporting children’s education through a variety of topics, and to encourage children to love literature and develop good reading habits.

FROG IN LOVE

In one pond, on the honorary seat, on the most beautiful water lily, there sat a frog. So like other frogs, and yet different. She was beautiful — so beautiful, in fact, that all other bullfrogs desired her. They did all sorts of things to attract her attention: they would drag her little boat across the pond, croak serenades to her, perform acrobatics just for her, hunt and bring her proper delicacies…
But there was just one obstacle to all of them — she already was deeply in love!

A LITTLE STORY FROM A BIG ANTHILL

As you know, ants live in anthills, in big families, in which everyone knows exactly what they should do. So, we have builder ants, food-collecting ants, protector ants, worker ants… and all of them obey the queen.
You’ll rarely see a lone ant, and even if you did, you should know that it must have lost its way.

This is precisely what happens to a little ant who’s lost his family. In the picture book A LITTLE STORY FROM A BIG ANTHILL you will find out what will happen to him when he comes across another ant family, which isn’t exactly friendly towards the newcomer.

LETTERS FROM VERSUNIUM
FRESHED WITH NEW ILLUSTRATIONS

While spending most of the day in his own room within his family home, a boy in a wheelchair communicates with the outside world through letters. With the aid of his friend, the elevator, he sends letters to Tamara, who lives in the same apartment house, but also to strangers, animals, and to poetry – to everything that can be found in »Versunium«.

He is especially pre-occupied with wordplay: he puts names, places, and things into question, bringing an entire idiosyncratic world into being that is not only poetic and philosophical, and at times simply funny. One example is the connection between his parents’ car, a LADA, chocolate (SchokoLADA) and a ballad (balLADA).

Stevan Milošević has assembled his novel out of short letters and descriptions. Rich in wordplay and metaphors, the story provides more than an insight into the versatile mind of the young first-person narrator. It also depicts how he overcomes barriers in his daily life and succeeds, through the power of language, in transcending all kinds of limitations.

Labradors are dogs with a cheerful temperament, they love the company of people, and they’re especially gentle towards children. They love water, are excellent swimmers, and are always ready and willing to take a walk in nature, run, and play with the ball.

Archie is just like that! Moreover, Archie is a dog who loves books. There’s nothing strange about that — dogs love books too! To be perfectly honest, he didn’t exactly like them when he was small, until one day…

Let us just say one more thing — Archie really does exist, and he got this book for his birthday. This is a book about him!
