Today, and I had the chance to talk to Admiral Hermann Leon who’s probably the person who spent most time investigating the ship wreck San José, a Spanish galeón sunk 300 years ago in front of the Colombian Carribean Coast.
Admiral Leon has been in charge of a successful expedition realized in 2015 when the Colombian navy discovered the exact location of the ship wreck, and when they also used for the first time a ROC, an unoccupied underwater robot, getting first pictures and video clips of the galeon San José.
Since then, an unaccountable number of Colombian navy members together with scientists belonging to the same country have leaded a research which will be giving probably the most complete information in regard to maritime trading routes between and , technical knowledgement of shipbuilding and living conditions in the continent hundreds of years ago, among other unknown facts.
