An open letter to someone who is fighting battles silently:
To you who carry a storm inside while letting the world only see sunshine and rainbows, I’m sending you my warmest hugs. I know that it’s not easy. I know it’s exhausting to carry so much within you, to shoulder burdens that seem too heavy at times, all while making sure no one can sense the whirlwind of emotions inside you.
People will tell you that it’s okay to be vulnerable, to breakdown, to be sad, and to rest until the storm calms down. While those words are true, there are parts of you that cannot afford to lose their strength because, let’s admit it, most of us are fighting not just for ourselves but also for the people that we love, for the people who look to us for comfort and courage. The thought of letting go seems impossible when so much depends on you. There are responsibilities and expectations that not anyone else can fully understand unless they’ve walked in your shoes. But even though there are moments when you feel overwhelmed, I want you to know that it’s okay to feel exhausted. It’s okay to admit, even if only to yourself, that it’s hard. It’s okay to cry, to break down, to feel the sadness, and to ask for help.
I hope that when you are in need of strength, you’ll find a source of it—whether it’s in the quiet moments, in the people who love you, or even in the smallest acts of kindness you give yourself. Keep fighting. Keep going. I am proud of you! Soon, everything you’ve been working on, everything you’ve poured your heart and soul into, will finally pay off. Until then, hold on. I believe in you. You got this!
