Future Filter
In the digital age, everything that is visible can be accurately recorded, including human faces. No matter the distance between eyebrows and eyes or the ratio of the cheek to the mouth, can both be measured by high-definition pixels. Paradoxically, people seem to be becoming more and more afraid to spread the truth. Before uploading a photo of a portrait to the social network, they’ve often gone through several procedures: shooting, adding filters, and using software to grind themselves.
So what’s the relationship between a human face and a human being? People look in the mirror every day, but are people really familiar with their features? To what extent does makeup make up people's faces, and how does the artist interpret this beauty?
In order to explore these propositions, we invited six artists with their faces as the main creative materials to make an impromptu expression. Their ingenuity and their explanation may bring us new inspirations. When we look into the mirror tomorrow, we can discover the new universe in the jungle of the five senses.
